So hating the drive by wire lag and with help of this board I decided to take the plunge and get a flash done to my 05 V6 Mustang. After shopping around the net I decided to go with the brenspeed Mac Cold Air Intake/Xcal2 package deal because the price seemed good, the site seemed honest and willing to work with you and hadn't read anything bad about them.

I bought the package online with a credit card.
Brenspeed promptly asked via email what car I had and what mods. (None)
I answered. Email never made it.
Day or two later another email and a follow up phone call (from them! not me! great service) Problem solved.

Got the package in two days on the front step.
The Xcal came in a factory box with an insert describing what the three tunes I got were. (87, 91 and 93 octane) plus factory instructions on how to flash a car (non-Mustang specific)

The air intake came in a factory box with factory installation instructions with a few easy steps, a mispelled word and a few missing important bits of info.

It was raining so I couldn't install it the first day.

The air intake went quick the next day. About a half hour.
The steps in the instructions from Mac leave out a few things (Like WHAT PART GOES WHERE?!?!?!) takes a little intelligence if you have never seen one of these things like me.
I really wish they would have just included a diagram that says this part goes to this part then this part.... (For those who have installed it the first time I put the black thing the filter goes on the wrong way and i couldn't figure quite where the blue thing went... see how car friendly i am?!?)

But if i would have known what i was doing or had another set of eyes I think it would have only taken about 15 minutes to install.

Tune went beautifully. Followed the instructions (Stopping only to see if pulling the fuses were neccessary - I didn't) and off we went with a 93 octane tune.

It is so much better! anyone who is a bit leary trying it on their own or doubting if it's worth the money should just do it. Makes the V6 more fun and less prone to getting hit when trying to do left hand turns at busy intersections.

Good things:
The only other cold air intake i had seen was on a RSX and that took most a day and cutting of a wheel well to install so this kit was much much easier
The flashing is simple. dirt simple.
The RSX made a sucking noise with a CAI my car does not. I have been told the sucking noise is a good thing but not to me.
Def. quicker without the lag in the pedal. It's there *kinda* but not as bad as it was.

I am not a car friendly person and me pulling this off means it must be easy to do.

Brenspeed was a great vendor and I will probably buy more things thru them if I decide to do anything else.

I need to paint the car bright orange or something... I got rear ended for the SECOND time tonight but it's ok... no nicks or anything.

I am putting a complete car computer in... was on my way to get the pc itself... got the touchscreen the same day I got the cold air intake.

I can post pictures once it quit snowing and I get the car back together, I am putting a car computer in to so I got the dash all tore apart. (Putting a 7 inch touchsccreen in the dash and installing the XM Commander and some other stuff in the center counsel)

It cost like $500 I think. I honestly would have to check.

It's been running for a week or so at 93 Octane and it's just smooth. No warning lights. No hiccups. I love this mod.

I also enjoyed my tune from brenspeed. I went with the K&N intake though, wanted the full intake tube setup. Im going to the track again this week, im going to put 100 octane in my car and run the 93 tune, and hope for the best hopin for a 14.59 or faster.

You know what sucks though? I would like mid-14s but my roommate's GTO just broke into the 12s so no matter what I do it looks lame compared to that. If I wanted fast fast though I would have never sold my Camaro... There was other reasons I chose a V6 Mustang.
