just looking for a CAI to settle down with and on rpmoutlet i found...

RPMoutlet is known for inflating thier HP number gains. As for a "dry" air filter, I'm not sure I would want to be the first one to try it. Oil on the filter is what catches the dirt and allows it to flow better.
You will probably get 10-12 HP gain, with a tune. But if it were me, I would go with a vendor that has proven dynos, and using a current technology.
But...you can be the first amoung us to try it out and let us know how it goes.

This is not new, it's been out for a few months, but I like mine. Gave me more power in fifth gear was the most noticable thing. No real MPG change. It shaved about .2 seconds off my ET at the track, and just looks good.

Oh, this is the same AEM that has been out for awhile. It has always been a dry filter? No need to oil?

Edit: Nothing in the instructions about it being a dry filter, plus it came with the kit for cleaning and re-oiling it so I'm not sure what this new one is all about.

From what I've heard "dry" filters are popping up more and more. I think its a cool idea but I don't know how well they'll perform compared to "wet" filters. Time will tell I suppose...

The "dry" filter is the only thing that's new about this CAI. There was a post that went on for three pages about this kit. I just ordered mine, should be here by the weekend. I let you guys know how well I like it.

Someone asked if you need a tune for the AEM's, does anyone know. I went with AFE because it was dyno proven at 11HP gain with no tune. But I am curious, I like my AFE but it dosent look as cool as an AEM under the hood...and I will be prepping my car for car show season over the fall winter.

No tune required, of course as with anything on the car it will give you better gains w/ a tune. I have had it for about 500 mi and the CEL has not gone off once and I have not had it tuned. Going to wait till all my mods are done to tune it all at once.

I think they're going over to the new type of filter now. However, you might be able to find one of the old ones in stock somewhere. 
Why would you want the old one? It doesn't filter as well as the new one. :scratch:
I don't know of any tunes for the AEM filter. I wasn't really looking for them. Didn't want to void my warranty.

Well, I got my AEM cold air kit and put it on today!
It was pretty easy, just make sure you have some metric tools!
The car does seem to acclerate faster, and sound a little meaner. It's too early to tell about gas mileage yet. I'll let you guys know later on that.....
