Need some help from someone w/ a v6

My mom has the standard exhaust on her car. I want to get her a nice tip for the muffler. Can anyone tell me what Outside Diameter of the tailpipe is? It would be much appreciated if someone could post a quick measurement.

Cool! I might need to cut a bit off, no biggie. One of mom's Christmas gifts: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/IMM-577554/

Thank you!

... and haha, yes - no carbon in that tailpipe!

youre welcome John-
thats a nice looking tip, but, might be a tad long- think it might need notched a little around the hanger, or it will stick out kinda far- took a couple more pics to judge, but looks to me like 6 overall would be a better fit? if theres enough meat to notch the tip around the bracket/weld on should work, but think if slipped on its gonna be a tad lengthy...

that is a nice gift idea...got me thinking about the same for the wifes car I dida search, found this too:
https://themustangsource.com/f670/st...uffler-402721/

Ive got a set of takeoff mufflers with polished tips, reading the posts, they look/sound good...I'd originally got them for 'someday' on the 69, as they are small/sound good/stainless, and takeoffs are like 50 a pair +shipping... maybe I'll put the passenger one on hers, guys say it really sounds good- funny, Fords 4.0 dont sound bad at all for a 6...I had a 2.8 camaro that had the worst sounding exhaust note...I swear you could hear a 2.8/3.1 chebby coming from a block away, sounded worse than a 5" piped honda, just not as loud

a gt takeoff would be the best. its a good sounding muffler, stainless tip and better performance. ive been running them on my 6 for a few years or more, and really like them. that is a pretty tip at summit though i think the v6 muffler has a bend to it also, it doesnt come straight out. heres how far the gt tip sticks out. the gt tip is about 9 1/2"

I'm kinda late, but what did you end up going with? I have the Ford accessory tip (http://accessories.ford.com/v6-chrome-exhaust-tip.html). It costs a little more, but I'm happy with it. Most of the people I see with dual exhaust usually have tips that stick way too far out, and the tip you posted looks kinda long...

If anyone is interested, you can get a complete dual exhaust in stainless steel off ebay for $350-$360
I also included schematics of the V6 and V8 stock systems so you can see dimensions of both. Hope this helps any of the other new people out there.
