Exhaust help!

What's up TMS fam! So I came up on some Pypes muffler delete axle backs for $50 on Craigslist. I slapped one in cuz I have a v6 single exhaust. In idle and first gear I sound good but after that it sounds like a suped up Honda haha o_O. I know I have to go dual but any suggestions on making it sound more muscle or do you recommend and exhaust system or mufflers only. FYI I got a excellent muffler guy who can pretty much do anything so what yall recommend.

Thanks,
Angel

When I say this, it's not just because I own them, but I think the Flowmaster American Thunders are the best mufflers for the 6 cylinders. They're not as crackly and poppy as the Pypes. They're more throaty and they have a nice snarl too them.

I thought I knew the difference between the two but I was corrected by skunk21. He's the one that put up this info!

"the x pipe provides more power than the H. The x pipe balances out the torque curve while the H pipe is more for sound dynamics. When the exhaust gases pass the opening in the X this creates a low pressure area thus improving scavenging it does however have a lower tone than the h-pipe. The 90* turn the exhuast gases make for the cross over in the H pipe are more designed for sound vs performance.

one of the best X pipes out there is the Dr.Gas X pipe IMHO.

this answer can easily be found in many tech articles such has muscle mustangs and fast fords, 5.0. mustang and super fords and tech forums on exhaust theory basics."
