My car is a dog

I'm new to the board. I went from a 95 GT manual to a 99 GT manual to an 01 Bullitt. Now I have an 05 V6 auto (don't ask why I didn't buy a GT). This car seems to really lag when I step on it. From what I'm reading on this board, it can be "tuned" away with a programmer module? Is that right? I can't take the sluggishness any more (interesting to say, that my 05 has more HP than my 95 GT, but you would never know it). In fact, it seems a 3.0 Duratec in a Sable has more pickup. I did a search, but I'm not sure what to do. Buy an SCT and take it to a tuner? If so, where do I go in the Detroit area? Thanks!

If it's a bone stock car you don't need to go anywhere. Get an SCT-2 from BamaChips.com and it will transform your car. I'd recommend a C&L CAI while you're at it. I believe BamaChips has those as well.

The X-Cal2 / C&L will definitely put a smile on your face!!!

I agree completely with these guys.
C&L intake + SCT X-cal2 = best money I ever spent on a car.
I installed mine yesterday (about a 15 minute job) and it's incredible the difference it makes.

Jimp, sorry, thanks first. No you are not invisable. I was saying thanks to John for a place in Detroit I can take the car to. I'm not sure I want to mess with it, not like that 289 I have!

I couldn't give you any numbers on a performance increase as I have not had the car dyno'd.
It does sound a lot better, more of a throaty growl.
I believe it would help performance wise as it seems like a more open muffler than the V6.
Not much help on this, sorry.

All you have to do is plug it into a port under the dash, it takes literally 45 seconds to do....It's not that hard..?
If you are going to do an intake, it takes about 10 minutes to unbolt the old one, and bolt on the new one.

I used to have the GT take off muffler, my bet is 3-5, no more than 5.
