Oops!

Coworker and I had a few friendly but competitive words about our automobiles.....

I should have looked over the specs before I said anything. I looked up her Infinit G35 and it appears that she indeed would win if we took them to the track. I had NO idea it had 280 HP and 0-60 in 6.2 secs.

Anyone tried this matchup in real life? Made me feel a tad dumb. She also preceeded to tell me that no american car would EVER match a foreign car like hers in the way in drives, corners, feels... etc.

Ugh! A guy having to admit his car is inferior to a female coworker's is NOT a good feeling! Luckily neither of us talked again after I checked up on it, so I didn't go back and volunteer this information to her.

Thanks,
Scott

Scott,

Is your car a six? (I'm guessing it is, since you posted in the V6 forum.)

Yes, a G35 will beat a V6 Mustang, and lose by only a small amount to a GT...but ask her how much she paid for her car. They start at over thirty grand, and a fully loaded model is gonna be closer to thirty five.
For that amount of money you could buy a Cobra.

Guess which car wins THAT race...?

Yeah, I test drove the G35 also. I wasn't that impressed..... :notnice:

It felt heavy to me, and it has all the bells and whistles, but it wasn't for me.

I lot different with either the V6 or GT Mustang. I test drove both, and I think they're both great...... :worship:

i had a g35 rental for a week and that thing was fast, hey next years will have 300hp and then the skyline g35 will come with a ton of hp, but hey we are mustang buyers in the $20-$30k range not the $30-$40k range

for the price of that crappy nissan you can buy a 400hp GTO,that is better in every category than G35.If I say that Mustang GT wins every comparison with GTO every thing will be clear

wow... so much hate for the infiniti.... i think its a beautiful piece of machinery (the coupe, not the sedan)
if i had won a contest and had to choose between the V6 stang or the G35, i would go with the G35. Nissan's 3.5 V6 engine (which is found in the G35, Z, and Maxima) is one of the best engines made today. it actually has won one of the top ten best engines i believe 10 years running or so (its the only engine to win the award every year since they started giving them out).
now, if i had to choose between the G35 and the GT, that would be a completely different story.
not saying that i dont love the V6 Stang, im gonna most likely own one in a couple years

That's funny, lets see a G35 line up on a road course with a Dodge Viper SRT-10, Corvette Z06, Ford Gt, Ford Mustang GT, and a Pontiac GTO, and see who wins the race. I think the G35 will finish last.

Haha, but your missing the most important part.

Even though the G would get its oddly styled rear handed to it, it still just "feels" so much better!!...and plus she gets the satisfaction of supporting japans economy!!!

(that was sarcastic, but in all seriousness the VQ engine is a jewel, it just makes me laugh when owners think they are F1 pilots)

I have a hard time understanding this foreign vs domestic thing that constantly goes on. Like it or not, our economy is going global. I happen to have bought more ford products than anything else because they are what I like. I have also owned volkwagens, chevys, acuras, toyotas, dodges, and my wife presently has a '99 A8 audi. I even owned a ford truck at one time. Who cares, as long as you like the car. They all have their positives and negatives. When it comes down to it, I like ford, but like I said, Who cares? I'm sure none of you.

And yes, the Infiniti would smoke a v-6 mustang. I don't care who's driving.

Hey Smiity that would be a fair statement and I as well would agree as I to have owned 90 % fords so far and when I lived where it was Soo cold they always cranked over, so I think they were or are the best cold weather starters. and for the rest that's part of the freedom that we all are so lucky to enjoy, it does not matter what kind of car we have and or like because each and every one of us are entitled to an opinion Freedom of speach and all that good stuff ! :stubborn:

You can start by comparing bills of sale with here. Yes a G35 is a nice car, but for $15K more than a Mustang V6 it darn well better be.

Go remind here that her G35 costs almost twice was a Mustang V6 does.

i completely agree, if i had a choice between a g35 and a v6 stang i would definately choose the g35. But the first thing i would do was sell it to get a gt.

The two cars are really very different!

One is a luxury cruiser, and the other is a sporty coupe.......

I test drove both, and I didn't like the Infinity. And it wasn't because of the price either! :nono:

It felt remote from the road, no feed back! Not good! :notnice:

But, I really liked the V6 manual 5 speed! It's a lot of fun!

I think I'm going to order one soon, maybe this week! B)

Here's the link to my test drive review....

V6 5 speed Test Drive

After all, where else can you get a car like this one in the pic for 20 Grand?
