Finally decided that the absolute best music to play in my Stang (outside of Tool, of course -- pfft!) is '80s retro progressive. Joy Division and Depeche Mode and The Smiths seem to all fit the mood of this car.

What the music that defines your car?

My MP3 CD full of Led Zeppelin. Occasionally some Techno/Electronica, Powerman5k, and oh yeah, Magic Carpet Ride by Steppenwolf

Thorogood, Georgia sattelites, ZZ top, AC/DC, Stray Cats, Chuck Berry, Muddy waters (mannish boy, cranked all the way up with the windows down), the crow soundtrack, Jimi hendrix, SRV, beach boys (a few tunes anyway), van halen, T-bone walker, green onions (american graffiti soundtrack), pulp fiction soundtrack, and many others...

thats what spins in my stang anyway

WOW!! My dad just played some of The Beatles in the Shaker 1000, and I gotta say I've never heard the music sound as good and rich.
I then went on a drive with some StaticX and that will get anyone in a racing mood.

Oh and I get to drive it to school tomowow!! I'm gonna load 6 of my CD's on there, man I love this sound system. I love this car!!

led zepplin pink flyod, Dazed and Confused soundtrack, jimi hendrix, beatles (come together), the doors (riders on the storm, strange) i think fit the mustang best due to its retro styling and muscle car history

I would add Radar Love - Golden Earring.

I've actually got a pretty diverse set of music in my changer. At the moment though, I've got a pretty heavy selection of Stone Temple Pilots (fast stuff only, like Vaseline) and some ska (yeah, I'm still a big ska fan sorry) like Reel Big Fish, Goldfinger, even the Bosstones.

Recently though, I've become a huge fan of Oi rock. Check out the Dropkick Murphys or Flogging Molly for a change of pace in your rock. I'm burning a CD of various song as we speak (or type, as the case may be).

I wouldnt call Flogging Molly OI!, they are a great band especially live..You want to listen to a good American OI band find the "Anti-Heros" or go further back and listen to "The Business", "the Last Resort", "The 4-Skins", "Sham 69", etc etc It was funny how a few years back people stopped calling it OI! and were calling it "Street Punk"
Anyways nothing wrong with Ska thats for sure, I just bought the new Goldfinger and its a shame the Bosstones had to disband..

It's not called Oi anymore? Man I guess I'm just retro then.

I'll check those other bands out. Goldfinger seems to have gotten away from the ska roots more towards straight punk/rock. I haven't heard their new one though, so I'm a bit behind the times (again).
