Yesterday I finally received the package that I've been impatiently waiting on for weeks...

Say hello to my new Mustang Racing Technologies (Street Smart Design) Cold Air Intake. After a long wait they've finally released the V-6 model of their intake. It took me the better part of an hour to assemble it and install it but I think it looks just AWESOME!!

I've taken it out for a few test drives since completing the install and the car performs soooo much better! And my Ford Racing exhaust seems to have benefited from it too.

Very nice! It's certainly one of the better looking intakes out there. Congrats!

Looks real nice!

Have you noticed any HP gains? Is the gas mileage any better?

My seat o' the pants meter says yes to HP gains but its tough to say yet since I've only had it installed since Friday. I've read good things about the MRT/Street Smart GT intake and am hoping that I'll see similar benefit.

Now then... if only they'd post some dyno numbers for the 4.0L intake... The GT's gains are impressive.

Martimus,
So after a week how are you liking the MRT CAI? I was back in Michigan and stopped by MRT and had a look before they rolled it out . Looks great, how was the install and did you need a tune? How about access to your Power Steering Cap?
Thanks
Jon

Its absolutely awesome Jon!!! No tune was required and the installation took me around an hour to complete. With the intake installed my cars acceleration is great and my FRPP exhaust sounds much better than before.

As part of the install they provided a relocation bracket to lower the power steering reservoir about an inch. It's a little odd seeing it sit lower than before but it made access much, much easier.

I may have the car at the car show sponsored by Copperstate Mustang club on Saturday. The show will be at the Holiday Inn on Country Club in Mesa.

Martimus,
Thanks for the information. What time is the show and what are the crossroads. I just might have to swing by for a look and listen.

I'm not sure about the show itself but I read that judging for the show is running from 9:30am to 12:30pm. The show is being held at the Holiday Inn at Country Club and the Superstition Fwy.

That is a really cool looking CAI.

I got the AFE kit and also have the Ford Racing Exhaust.

The exhaust sounds soooo much better, seems like there used to be a drone on the highway that is gone now as well.

Darren... your best bet is to contact Mustang Racing Technologies or Street Smart Design and ask them directly if its CARB certified. I live in Arid-zona so CARB certification has no direct impact on me.
