I Installed the MAC CAI yesterday, pics below for those interested. Pretty easy install, the instructions could have been a little better, but nothing major that couldn't be figured out. Very easy install. Happy so far, it sounds great... particulalry combined with my Magnaflow exhaust.

Thanks for the pics! Your CAI looks great!

Do you think it gives you any more power or gas mileage?

Thanks! It's a bit early to tell regarding power and gas mileage, but I'll let you know. I tuned before the install. It was OK at first, but then the check engine light came on the first time I really put my foot down. I disconnected the battery over night which reset the light, but it came on again today. I was thinking about trying the tune again, not sure if that would help. I'll also email Brent from http://www.brenspeed.com (where I bought the xCal, great price & service btw) to see if there is something I can do to tweak the tune.

I've checked and there is nothing loose, too much air is what I figured too.

Too much air? Is that a problem? I thought it only took what it needed...

I've tried it now with the Factory tune and a Premium tune and the problem keeps occuring. I have emailed MAC tech support and will let you know what they say.

Looks good!

I have read way too many stories about the various CAI's throwing trouble codes. It seems none of the current tunes are working right. I went with a K&N drop-in until all this can get worked out. It works great by the way, and incredibly my mileage has gone up. I haven't run a full tank through since installing it, but it looks like I'm going to get 25 on this tank versus 23 on the last one.

Are you talking about the K&N replacement filter for the Mustang, or are you talking a K&N CAI?

"Drop-in" means direct replacement.

So you got about 8% better mileage just by putting in a K&N air filter huh? That sounds pretty good. With gas prices like they are, it should pay for itself in no time.

I'm waiting for a K&N CAI kit for the 4.0 liter Mustang. I called K&N a couple of weeks ago and they're in the process of making one for the V6.....
