Looking at some 17 or 18 inch bullit wheels

Ok.
I want to get some 17 or 18 inch bullit wheels, because honestly, the stock V6 wheels look like hiney. I just have the standard ones, thankfully without the spinners.
My question is, what size tire would I have to put on a 17 or 18" to keep frmo having to tune the computer. Im not very smart with wheels and tire sizes so im not sure what would come out to being the same diamater wheel, as I dont want my speedo and odometer off.

If you get 17s and want to keep the same radius you'll want to run 235/55/17 tires. You could run wider (first number) and still have the same diameter. Second two numbers are what counts.
As for 18s, I'm not sure, I *think* you'll want something like a 235/35/18 but am not positive.
The key here is that the numbers are in millimeters, so if you increase the rim diameter by one inch, you need to reduce the profile of the tire by a half inch (two sides of the tire).
So, take 55mm and subtact 1/2" (convert to mm) and you'll have the appropriate profile for an 18" rim.

If you go for an 18" rim, you need either a 255/45/18 or 285/40/18 to keep the sock rim diameter and not throw off your spedo.
Thats assuming that you get a wider rim than stock. Like an 18" by 9" rim.

Just buy a set of 17" GT takeoffs - Bullits or Premium, which sell on ebay for $500 - $800 with tires. They'll bolt right on and the difference in diameter is only around .125 - not enough to screw your speedo. I've done it and it works just fine.

Well, they sell for $425 on Saleen.com. They were only $375 when I bought them. Not sure why he's asking all of this, he has an 05 GT, so his stocks are 17" regardless.
