Tonight I floored it to so I could make a video. And as I floor it, I hear slight knocking. Like Knocking and pinging...is that normal at WOT? Or is it a sign of things to come? I thought we had knock sensors?

thats strange I have not heard knocking at all in my V-6. Do you think its the gasoline you used?

A little known fact from my father-in-law - a retired over-the-road 18-wheel driver. The same tanks that are used to deliver diesel fuel are also used to deliver gasoline. There is always fuel left in the bottom of the tanker and when mixing diesel & gas, it degrades the octane and thus you may get pinging. My last ride, an 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe, called for 87 octane and every now & then, I'd get some bad gasoline and that was the only time I ever had pinging issues...

Ive heard this before as well.. take it easy on that tank you ahve now, and when you run it out try a different gas band/ocatane/whatever and see if that clears it up.

Ive never had any such problems on my car.

Well, i just filled up yesterday. And it was Chevron gas (some people ONLY buy that stuff). And thats my second tank of gas of it in a row. So hopefully its just the gas.

I read a post a few days ago about another stanger that had problems with Chevron gas. You might try another brand.

Nothing but chevron gas has been ran in my car, and no problems yet. (even on the test drive from the dealer, we stopped at a chevron station)

I have noticed that when I drive for the week in super "Econo" mode for mileage, (commuting to work) then drive hard for the weekend, the car tends to knock a little on hard accel. Goes away rather rapidly. It may be the computer learning the driving style? I dunno. My GM truck has knock once in a while, and it would then go away. This was all on the same tank of gas. (Monster holds 36 gallons).

Now I have been driving with the occasional "performance" style driving. Not enough to really consume more gas, but it doesn't knock and my mileage has dropped.

Of course, this all could be in my head. (Long commute to ponder crap like this)

Knocking could be a major problem...

It might be a bit more ominous than what has been mentioned here. My '05 V6 is at the dealer right now with the same problem. I would have knocking under moderate to hard acceleration throughs gears 1-2-3, then it stopped in 4-5. It's been happening for maybe two years or more, and hasn't really changed or gotten worse. I tried octane boosters and Sunoco Ultra, but no soap. At first they thought it was the timing chain guides wearing out - 13 hours labor, about $1300, and about $200 in parts! That was before the holiday. Today, the tech says he's pinpointed it to the cams - both cams, and the lifters and tensioners need replacing. $3000!
I'm fishing around other forums to see if anyone else is having this, too. Better get it to a dealer or good shop and have it diagnosed.

i have almost the same problem but mine is from running a CAI without a tune when i run low grade octane my car knocks and sounds angry and when i run 91 it prr's would i would do in your case is by a good octane boost and see if it goes away then you know its gas related, and if not then try a fuel injector cleaner from o'rileys or autozone if it kinda clears up then you need your injectors cleaned it could also be your fuel filter bringing in nasty stuff your supposed to change ever 15,000 miles and is still nothing then defenetly go get it checked
