Hey scrming, how hard was it to install that Red Line quick lift hood kit? I've been thinking about putting it on my b-day list (ugh, I'm getting old) but being mechanically disinclined I'm nervous about punching holes in my hood. Also have the billet covers on my list. Gonna make everything all purty and shiny.

Sounds like we are two of a kind! I barely know the right end of a screw driver! LOL! Luckily a guy I work with is very mechanical! Actually the install was pretty simple and I could have done it myself except for I didn't have a pop rivet gun. They give you some really hefty pop rivets and they recommend you don't try using a cheapy type gun. My buddy had the HEAVY DUTY one so i took the car to his house. Just took are time and double checked as we went. The instruction are very clear. I really like it! Much better for car shows without the prop rod! I sprung for the ELITE kit which has stainless tubes, painted brackets and a 4 year warranty.....

Yeah I don't have a rivet gun myself. Ah well if I get it (I was looking at the Elite set myself also) the guys who did my tint seem to be pretty cool about doing minor work on my car, they'll probably do it. We have a kind of informal relationship (I advertise for them, they don't charge labor on work I get done there) so I might be able to talk them into it. I may just have to order it through them though.
