if anyone can tell me its normal il feel fine

car is completely stock for now

whenever i idle for extended periods of time in this lovely long island traffic like 10min + and while driving no more than 3 mph between lights the engine RPM drops a teeny bit every 10 seconds or so ..enough so i notice it by the sound

normal??

this due to the fan having to spin constantly?

My manual transmission doesn't do this. If this isn't common to the autoboxes, then it could be caused by a marginal throttle position sensor or a coated oxygen sensor. Does anyone else with an autobox experience this? If not, off to the dealership with you.

On my manual I noticed for a long time that the car when idling would rev itself a little bit then drop back down every 10 seconds of so, but the RPMs were actually picking up. I cant remember experiencing this since the car was tuned so I would point towards something to do with a throttle position sensor as well.

yea it drops down a tiny bit .. just enough to make the car shudder for a second then goes up again...only after idling for entended periods

talking maybe from 600rpm to 500 for 1 sec every 10 seconds

This may be your A/C clutch cycling. If you are running defrost settings or A/C settings your compressor will cycle.

The AC doesn't have to be selected. If you have the blower running, the AC compressor cycles. It's almost as if the system thinks it's got low pressure. Don't know why, it just does.

Yes, as stated it doesn't have to be A/C selected, any defrost settings will cycle the a/c compressor.....sorry about that 35 degrees.......although it has been cool down here in Bama also.
