I don't have a clue about the horsepower, but I read in an earlier thread that it topped out at 111 mph.

The only two cars I know of that've been tested on the track ran a 15.2 and a 15.3. So that's right about in the ballpark for a 3400 lb car with 210 horsepower.
Sorry. I'd like to think it's underrated, too, since I've got one on order. But I do think it has the POTENTIAL for much more...it's four freakin' liters, fercryinoutloud, that's a pretty big V6.
And according to other posts I've read, a $300 Fordchips tune is supposedly worth 18 rwhp, that's about 20 more at the crank. Magnaflow seems to be getting 9 rwhp with their single setup. Seems like it shouldn't be too hard to get this puppy up around 250 or so, for not too much cash.

Most stock 4.0's put down around 175-180 rwhp and 200 rwtq, now this is in Ranger's and Explorer's but the same basic engine. I've gotten 200rwhp from a stock 4.0 with some basic bolt ons, air intake and catback exhaust and my dyno tuning.
I'm going to Dyno tune a V6 hopefully Monday, I run a SCT chip tuning business www.BamaChips.com and I do alot of 4.0 SOHC's V6's in the Explorer and Ranger markets. I'll definatly let you know what the results are.
Shoot me a email if you interested...

Thanks, Doug

Does Ford rate their engines for RWH or net crank horsepower? You need a lot more than 210 HP at the crank to get 210 at the RW. Just interested in knowing if the specs given for the V6 are RW specs or crank specs.

And, Doug, we are all definintely interested in seeing what kind of results you get with a Mustang, so please keep us informed.
