Help! I need a new clutch already
Okay, here's the skinny. Just bought an 05 v6 in june with 12k miles on it. Owner must have been a lousy driver cause the clutch started slipping at 14k. Dealer wants $1200 parts and labor for a new one (warranty only good for 12 months or 12k miles). Is this reasonable? Is there a market for used clutches? Anybody have experience with aftermarket clutches? This is my daily driver not a racer other than occasional autocross, no drag. Thanks for the help everyone.

Price is a little high.
Call around (including dealerships in NH, no sales tax on parts).
Dealers will usually be higher, but never take the first quote anyway without checking .
It is not the hardest clutch to do, even another dealer should be cheaper.

Always go with the guy you trust.![Thumb](https://themustangsource.com/forums/images/smilies/thumb.gif)
If you know how to drive and are not drag racing, the stock clutch will be enough.
The better clutches may tend to grab more than you want for daily driving.
May feel a little harsh thats all.
That's my 2 cents.
