im finnally going dual on my v6 going with the magnaflow i have a gt h pipe would that be able to get welded onto my v6 would it work good any help would be appreaciated

 

Our motors prefer an Xpipe.. The H-pipe slows down the motors rev speed...

There is a very big difference in terms of acceleration between the 2 cross-overs on our motor..

I say you go with an XPIPE if you like fast take-offs...

 

how much does the x pipe go for and where can i get it

 

would the gt manglfow catback work for a v6 it has the two mid pipes and i waned to know if the gt is different than the v6 or would it fit the same way i need all the help you guys can give me

Just stick with the h-pipe. The difference in HP is 2-3 at best.

If you have all of the items you mention it will work.

Go with the H Pipe. I've had it for over a year and there really isn't a noticeable difference between the H Pipe and the X Pipe. Most of my friends have gone this route. FYI - the GT uses an H pipe and I have seen posts from guys who have used this setup, but a good Muffler shop could easily fabricate it for you.

 

oh ok im going wiht my h pipe thanks a lot guys i had one question i took of the stock pipe and the stock muffler of the car already but i need to drive the car to the muffler shop to weld the h pipe install the rest of the exhaust its like 10 minutes is it ok to drive the car without the pipes can i mess up the car

 

It's Ok to drive it, it'll just be loud.

 

yeah i noticed that but it wont harm the car or anything it just 10 minutes to the muffler shop

 

No it won't harm a thing, you might want to keep your windows down so the carbon monoxide doesn't build up inside your car though.

LEO_06GT has no clue of whats best for a SOHC 4.0.. He has absolutley no experience with either the H or the X in relation to the SOHC 4.0.. I have tried both and spoke from experience..

Amazing how people take bad advice over good.. LOL!

Oh well, I hope it turns out well.. Dont be confused when you get a dyno and it seems like it takes forever for the car to tach out 4th gear...

 

i took it to a muffler shop today and they told me that the exhaust system i had that was no good i have the magnaflow catback for the gt it comes with the midpipes and the mufflers they tested the midpipes for fitmetn and they told that the drive side one the would have to cut it and make it longer because when it goes over the axle its too close to gas line anyone had this problem before any ides on what i can do

On this particular issue unless you have tried both back to back you would be hard pressed to distinguish the difference...

I discovered this oddity because I had on the XPIPE, but wanted to try out an HPIPE to possibly improve the tone of the car above 5000RPM.. So I had the X swapped for an H...

When the work was done and I revved the car I knew instantly that my motor seemed to rev up slower so I took the car for a drive and "BAM" it felt horrible.. I swapped them back out and lost $150 bucks, but gained some knowledge and experience to share with others...

The info I gave was worth $150 bucks...
