Ok.. on to the subject at hand... I used my buddy OLD cheapy Gtech... It was surprisingly accurate for 0-60 times and 1/4 mile times... I did not try the HP stuff... I would expect the newer models to be just as accurate if not more...

If you want mine I'll give it to you. I never even used it because it's such a PITA. It was a waste of $30 IMO.

Its somewhat accurate Jimp, if you use the proper weight for the car.. Its not a bad item to have if you know how to set it up.. Unfortunatley, enough people have problem setting them up, that the results are not consistant enough to be relied upon..

$30??? The one I'm looking at is $300. Are you sure you have the same make/model gtech? Even if you have the basic one, I might be interested in buying it from you.

The new ones are $200-$300, depending on the model. All of the info is in that C&D link I posted above.

No, no, no. Read through my post again. It's the old model. The one where you have to tilt it up or down to set the weight of your car. And every time you turn it off it loses that information. Hey, I'll sell it cheap. Or give it to you, what the heck.

Thanks man, but I think I will wait when I can spend a few hundered on it. appreciate it. Just the thought of it losing information when I turn it off is enough to drive me nuts.

I use my buddies on my old 1988 Grand Prix... put in the right information on the setup, told me I had somewhere in the neighborhood of 800hp with a 12 second qtr mile... lol... Keep in mind I think my car ran the qtr mile in about 16 days, or so...

I would venture to guess you did it wrong, or it was broken, because when i took mine to the track (when i had the $30 one) it was off between .01 and .14 seconds on each of my 4 runs.
