Thumbs up

I am getting a '05 Torch Red V6 Mustang and I want to put GT bumpers on it. I am not trying to be a GT and I am not putting the GT emblems on it. I just like the look of the GT bumpers much better than the V6 bumpers. I know a lot of people have used Casco Tech and I am planning to buy a kit from them that includes a GT Front Fascia Bumper Cover with Grille and Fogs, Rocker covers, and the GT rear bumper. Is there anything else I will need to buy to complete the conversion? I have read where some people say that you will need new forward fender liners and a valance between the bumper and radiator core support. Is that true? Thanks a lot!

The GT front fascia wont mesh with the grille and body on the v6, and leaves a nasty looking gap between the grille and front bumper. Very noticeable. Other than that, you're fine.

Erg, my head hurts trying to remember if thats the case or not. As best I remember it it was caused not by the grille specifically, but more by the tabs on the fasica not meshing correctly with the body of the v6. So Im pretty sure the gap is still going to be there, GT grille or no.

I remember reading on one of the Mustang forums that you'll also need the GT fender wells as the V6 wells are shorter. Someone needs to verify this...

Yes you will need additional parts to do a nice job.

Off course you will need the Bumper Cover and the GT Grill plus:

1. Front forward fender liners, otherwise you will have to make small plastic extender as the shape of the GT bumper is slightly different from the V6 (bottom part) Part-no 5R3Z-16102-BA and 5R3Z-16103-BA

2. You will need a new bumper isolator foam, this is because the GT bumper cover doesn't have the license plate indent. Part-no 5R3Z-17C947-BA

3. you will need the valence under the bumper that connects to the radiator core, for some reasons V6 don't have it. I think it's because the bumper cover openning (the bottom hole) is larger on the GT and they don't want thing getting to your radiator. part-no 5R3Z-17626-BA

4. You will need the screws and clips tpo attach the valence. Part-no N801169-S439 and W711274-S439

5. Wiring harness for the fog lights (that one I'm still working on it) ????

6. You will need to transfer the flashers from your old bumper to the new one.

Have fun........

Yikes, sounds a lot more complicated than I originally thought!

I remember someone telling me either on here or another board about how they made the V6 grille fit with the GT front fascia... that is my goal, since I like the cleaner look of the V6 grille without the fogs. Anyone know how hard this will be to do? Or even better, grille dude, are you out there? :-)

I've seen this being done as well but the problem is that the V6 grill is about 1/4 of an inch smaller (top to bottom) so you will have a gap at the bottom and won't be able to clip the bottom pins (for 2 reasons, they will be too far in heigt, and the bottom pins are not located at the some place on both version). I saw peoples either drill holes in their bumper covers and putting screws to hold the bottom of the grill or using tie-raps.

Yes you can as long as you have the bumper cover and the grill.

You will need 4 clips and 8 screws.
