OK... this article is about a cai shootout for the GT, but it mentions the V6 quite a bit, since several manufacturer's also produce or will be producing intakes for our beloved 4.0L's. It gives each intake a subjective score, including fit and finish, durability, ease of installation, etc and includes gains for each unit. I think it's a great source to help us six-bangers choose a manufacturer. A few interesting notes, a couple times the article mentions the importance of a heat shield and that plastic inlet tubes have been known to melt under hot weather conditions.

Enjoy!

"With nearly 200,000 '05 Mustangs hitting the streets--a reported 70 percent of them are V-8 GT models--"

I find that very hard to believe!

Not in New England anyway, though I've heard that figure thrown around elsewhere too. Either its 70/30 the other way here, or the supposed 7 out of 10 guys owning GTs never actually drive them...

Good article tho'

Must be typo or just factual error... I agree... gotta be 70/30 the other way.

Its always been 70/30 in favor of v6's or at least real close to that in the past.

Red face

60/40 w/ the nod towards the 6's. This is from Fords numerous press releases/factory discussions on the new model. Ford only expected approx 40% to ordered as GT. Possibly a little higher (perhaps 55/45) given the popularity of the GT as 'new model' but not by much.
