Yeah, I finally took the plunge and ordered the GT takeoffs, they should be here today. I just set an appointment to have them installed on Saturday morning - man, the wait is killing me already!
I've been wanting to get those for over a year now, don't know what kept me from doing it.
I'll post pics and (hopefully) a soundclip later on Saturday!

Just curious: will the sound improve with a setup just like that?

I will be installing mine when the weather breaks here in Chi-town. This is what I am installing:
FRPP x-pipe: $119
GT take off mufflers with rolled chrome tip: $75
Axle back pipes taken off a GT: $30
Price of having a true dual exhaust: PRICELESS
I can't wait till this bummer snowy weather goes away!!!!

Did anyone cut their own bumper using the template from the Pypes-webpage?
Thinking about just marking the bumper where it needs to be cut rather than have the exhaust-guy cut it free-hand or cutting it myself...
What kind of saw / knife would get the job done?
Thanks for any input,
Ben.

naw i had the shop do it. That sounds expensive for all the stuff. I got a deal on my takeoffs for $40 for both with only 500 miles on them. plus the shop cut my bumber, made an h pipe and installed for $180. so it cost me $220 total out the door!

Great work! Looks awesome!
A friend of mine with a V6 is interested in that setup on her Mustang.
Can I ask you for a list of parts required for the conversion and where you got them from?
Also, what shop did you go to and would you recommend them for a future install?
Lastly. Mind if I ask you total cost out the door for parts and install?
Thanks!!!

I can highly recommend the template you can get at Pypes' website when marking where to cut the bumper: http://pysales.com/inst/SFM68-69-bumper-cutout02.pdf
I don't know where exactly you're friend is at, I had this done at KarLife mufflers in Bellflower, north of Long Beach.
Couldn't be happier with the result, and the sound is reaaallyyy goood....

Well, the only parts I got were the 2 GT Takeoff exhausts from www.v6mustangstuff.com for 74.99 plus shipping. Everything else was custom made by the shop. I paid 300.00 for the install and that included all the pipes, bending, welding and cutting the bumper.
