Getting a T-Lok, what do I need to know?

Like the title says Im going to get a T-Lok in the next month to help with winter driving and for the performance. What should I know about these things? Will I need new gears to go with it or am I fine to use the old ones? Also right now Im looking at the Ford T-Lok, is it any good or is there a better one out there? Thanks!

1. They're awesome, one of the absolutely must-have mods for the car.
2. Stock gears are fine, though 3.73s are lots of fun
3. Detroit TrueTrac is a tougher diff, but costs much more. The Trac-Lok can't be beat for the price, and can handle pretty much anything you can throw at it, unless you're doing multiple launches on slicks with monster nitrous shots.

So should I just get the T-Lok from Ford? Will my dealership sell this and if not where is a good place to buy one online?

The Ford Performance Parts T-Lok is a good piece for street applications, go with an Auburn for pure Performance. You will be able to use your original gears unless you want a different ratio. Find a trust worthy installer to do it right and have 2 bottles of friction modifier put in. I did it all for $700.
All rear wheel drive vehicles should have it.

I would buy from a Ford Performance Parts dealer.

Do you have to get a different TRACTION-LOK if you want to get 3.73 gears? Mind providing a link for those too?

I'm just starting to decide what Mods I need or want. Weather to go SC or add smaller mods.
Would it be more cost efficient or more of a hassle to go with a GT rear end?
Plus if I go with a SC would I want to change the gears or leave stock?
Thanks
