Sup all you loyal V6 Mustang fans! Had to put one to sleep today @ only 6psi of boost. I got my Dual Ball Bearing T04Z Garrett turbo back on the car, using a 38mm external wastegate with a 6psi spring. I went to pickup an 8.5psi spring which is a (small blue) Tial spring. The spring which is currently installed is a (small red) spring. Which is rated at 5.8psi by Tial, but spools about 6psi psig when looking at the boost gauge in the car.

The roll started out at 60MPH.. The Coroner was called in to remove the Lime Green carcass at roughly 4500RPM. The 6psi spring produces roughly 320RWHP and 360RWTQ.. Its a nice daily driver spring. It brings the SOHC 4.0 up to the level of a GT Mustang but carries with it about 40FT lbs more TQ. So it was a fair fight for the Lime Green Charger R/T.

At 4500RPM, after starting out fairly even the SOHC 4.0 starts to walk out pretty hard. The Lime Green Charger was introduced to the back bumper at roughly 4700RPM and a distance of about 2 car lengths is used to make sure the combatant is no longer conscious before releasing them to die in peace.. LOL!!

So all you guys need to handle a 2008 Lime Green Charger R/T is a mere 6psi of boost using 3.31's with a 5spd manual tranny!! Good Luck! Here is a shot of the victim. I must say, the Charger R/T's sound great while racing. His exhaust was excellent!

I'll keep my eye out for a Super Bee using an 8.5psi spring and see how it goes.

 

I'm confused, you say that at 6 psi, your car makes about the same hp and 40 more lb ft torque than a stock Mustang GT. However, the Mustang GT's 300hp and 320 lb ft torque are at the flywheel, while your 320/360 are rear wheel horsepower?. Assuming a 15% drivetrain loss for your car, you would be making about 375hp and 425 lb ft torque at the flywheel, which would kill a stock Mustang GT by a long shot.

Most of the blowers & turbos I've seen for the Mustang V6 advertise about 330-350 hp at the flywheel (and a fairly equal amount of torque), which is more like 275-295 rwhp. Is it possible that you meant your Mustang V6 makes 320/360 hp/tq at the flywheel??? If it's really at the wheels, then that's awesome and your car will toast most new (stock) V8 musclecars.

However, I'm confused about your speed and rpm's. You started at 60mph (4,500 rpm's) and by 4,700 rpm's you were 2 car lengths ahead of the other car? Really? That gain of 200 rpm's equates to just a 2.5 mph increase, if you do the math. So, you put 2 car lengths on him by accelerating from 60 mph to just 62.5 mph? What, did he hit the brakes at the same time you hit the gas?

Your kill story sounds cool, but the facts and figures leave me wondering what really happened.
