V6 and Flows

Before I went dual I had a single 40 series flow and it sounded pretty good but I added headers and wanted to go dual so I went with Magnaflows, if I can put flows under the car I might, there is a pocket under the front seats if there is enough room I might change, clearance will be the biggest concern as long as they don't lay below frame rails it shouldn't be a problem, I have a friend that has duals put on under car, about their size of old cherry bombs, they really don't have much sound, I'll keep posted about flows

The first thing I did to my V6 was had a flow 40 series put on, I think it sounded good, but, I wanted dual, if you choose to stay single I don't think you will be disappointed, read my post about my findings on putting a flow under the car before the axle, I think that is where you get your best results.

I love my single Magnaflow. Sounds great, reasonable interior noise level and still have only 1 tube out the back, proudly showing it's a V6!

I have single exhaust with a flowmaster super 44 and jba headers.I am very happy with the sound.I also had the flow 40 series there before. To me,it is a mix of euro and muscle and sounds appropriate for the 4.0.I don't think it drones either, but without spending big money this setup will stay .

The Flowmaster sounds awesome, but it does have horrible highway drone. I've heard it in person and it does sound great. That being said, I love my Magnaflow single as well. It isn't nearly as loud and sounds more Euro, but I still love it.

There's a guy down the street with a dual Flowmaster setup. To me, it sounds like a truck. Listen to some of the GT takeoff sound clips or the MRT - both sound much better than flowmasters - in my opinion. It's a personal choice, so whatever spins your crank.

Ive had the single axleback AT for about 6 months and I like it. No drone between 1500 and 2100 RPM inside on the highway. Nice deep idle sound. BUT it is not a v8 -wont sound like a v8- and cant be made to sound like a v8. Enjoy the v6 sound and get over it....or you should'a got'a v8....

That's exactly what I'm looking for and I agree on the V6 is not and never will be (or sound) like a V8! I knew that when I bought my V6.

Thanks...........

Back when i had my 05 V6, I went with the Flowmaster American Thunder kit, the one for the GT's. I didnt have any problem installing them and they sounded kick azz for a v6!!

I have a dual exhaust kit on my V6. A Magnoflow system to be exact. It has a deep throaty sound on take off and once you reach your speed it has a fairly decent rumble. What I have found out by putting the Magnaflow system on the mustang is that the fuel savings are quite substantial and these savings were realized before putting the MAC cold air induction kit on the car. Dual pipes look cool too!
