Lucky you. I tried a brake spin tonight and it just sat there and grunted. I let off a bit and it just started creeping, no spin for me!
I have Doug's 93 tourque tune and I figured with the added torque it should at least do a one wheeled burnout!

But I feel like there is just a slow response time when I put the petal to the floor... slower than it should be, even on a stock v6. Anyone have any suggestions, or notice the same thing with theirs?
Hmm learn how to drive it? I can smoke anything in mine- She gets it.
My manual also gets up there quite quick.

If i get the scal tune how will that change my cars response as far as moving when i need it to go?

for example: i needed to get in front of someone today on the road that would not make up there mind where they were going...so i try to move ahead of them and then my car hesitates and then it moved but by then this person got ahead of me.....will this program help me?

Oh yeah, now my car will jump out there when I need it to. I say it does help in a few areas but for me it doesn't seem to do a couple of things that everyone else is raving about.

I installed a JBA axle-back muffler, and the "performance tune" (93 octane) from DiabloSport Predator. I bumped the idle up 175 RPM's.
I have NO lag now, and actually, if I stand on it, I just roast my right rear, on dry pavement. I have yet to install my C&L CAI. I would say that this "waking up the V6" is an understatement.
If you have no noticable difference with a "tune", the module might be defective, and need to be replaced.
I also have a 25% U/D pulley to put on, soley to get torque. HP gains might not be great, but the torque factor should be there. Comments?

I guess stock V6 don't have a traction lock like GT, without a optional T-Lock your V6 will only spin with one wheel on dry pavement...
Tell me if I am wrong?
With a tune you sould have a better response but not necessarely burnouts

Yes, the S197 V6 comes with an open differntial...

A tune will definitely help with throttle response!

Tell me scrming:
a tune without mods like CAI, T-lock etc. is it a good choice? does it bring a better response, better accelarations, quicker gear change with an auto trans?

I have trac ctrl ON and chirpped both rear tires doing an easy start and straight run up to 60 mph. The power is amazing and I haven't even installed any mods! However the throttle lag/poor response at the low end is very disappointing.

I think Doug904 from Bamachips knows the throttle response codes to remove this type of lag..

I understand VMP tunned your car and it should have been handled.. However, I remember Doug904 mentioning that he has studied the throttle codes, or something like that...

Maybe Doug904 can chime in here and enlighten us to his very detailed research into the codes and how he has an apparent ability to overcome them..

Actually I have not had the GT tuned at all. I have the SCT hardware and files but I haven't made a decision on whether or not to flash the PCM.

It is your fuel pump

I had the same problem with my mustang from the get go. There is a thread on this forum somewhere that list the mustang problems and ford fixes. I copied took it into the ford dealer...and no more lag. They replaced the fuel pump under warranty.
Didn't cost a dime.

a new throttle body would also help decrease the lag time and add a couple horses.

Or, if you have traction control switch it OFF.

Traction control limits throttle response and horse power. Try driving a few days with it switched off and see if your issues are less noticeable.

I have the opposite problem... the back tire breaks loose too often.. especially if I am pulling out of a lot (left or right).
One time I gunned it from a stand still when passing a person waiting to turning left in front of me.. and the rear end kicked to the right. I liked it.
This is with a 6 with less than 3000 miles and a single GT axleback.
I did wax it that day.. and we all know waxing adds at least 10 rwhp.
