Willie: That is the Intermediate pipe hanger, designed to help absorb the 800 and 1,600 rpm resonance. DO NOT cut it off, unless you are going to a full-dual exhaust system.

 

Thanks for the replies guys. I have NEVER seen, nor heard, of anything like this before on ANY car. Why would this particular car with a single exhaust have resonance and only in this rpm range???

Sooo...... it's only used on Sonic Blue cars like mine?? It looks ugly as sin cause you can see it from behind...

KC, I didn't get the spoiler/fog lamp nor the rear bumper cover yesterday so it looks like Monday will be the day. I'll have to go to duals once the cover gets installed...

If I cannot get better mileage out of this piece of crap car than I get with my '03 Cobra, it doesn't make sense to keep it. Insurance costs are not as good as I'd hoped either. I pay only $25 more per month for my Cobra than this V6 piece of.....

KC, I'll be calling you Monday to ask how I return the GT/CS rear bumper cover and the Shelby rear spoiler. I'm keeping the '03 Cobra fog lamp! Sorry for the inconvenience.
