This is a huge arguement. Read older posts... but, I still want to go with Xpipe w/deleted cats on my car along with flowmaster mufflers, more then likely with 2 1/2" pipes, with possibility of headers... depending on gas prices and how much I decide to do to my car . Although, I heard that the Mac single exhaust is great also... depends on what kind of sound and performance you're looking for.. and from what I understand from the mechanics around here at the speciality mustang shops, the compression needed isn't much, so I wouldn't lose power... as long as I we don't put exorbant size pipes on it. Hey, how much could you get a GT bumper for?

Doesn't seem to me, based on everything I could find. to be any real performance benefit going to a dual exhaust... So I decided to stick with a single exhaust... I wouldn't want any to accidently think I've got a GT! LOL!!!

BTW... Was driving a V6 with the GT dual take off... Sorry... my single Magnaflow single sounded better... (but that's my opinion... and you know about opinions... LOL!!)

We all do.. heck, I just have 17" GT Wheels on my car, and someone asked me how much I paid for my GT. So.. that just goes to show you how much people really pay attn, that whole GT on the side not being there would have tipped em off, or the fact that you can't hear my car unless im slammin it, but oh well. It's all a matter of opinion. Although, if you plan on doing a lot more modifications to your engine, dual exhaust would almost be necessary... in my opinion :-)

I got the Magnaflow dual not because I was trying to look like a GT, but because I think this car looks better with a dual exhaust.

im looking for just a throaty, deep tone, performance would only be a plus in my case, im just looking for a good sound, mods for performance come later. and i could pick up the GT bumper for close to 400-500 instead of the 850-1000 thats usually charged.

Thats exactly what the Magnaflow sounds like. Deep and growly, but not so bad you'll need earplugs. At highway speeds while cruising it is not too much louder than the stock exhaust sounded. The extra ponies I feel are an added bonus.

I answered in your other thread about this, but I'll echo azlitigator. My Magnas are nice and deep and offer an impressive roar as you're accelerating. When you hit your cruising speed though it's nice and quiet.

Hi, I live in Germany and drive a 05 Mustang V6 Automatic Coupe (Gallery).

I am in doubt to buy a single exhaust axleback system by Borla or by Magnaflow.

Which one has the darker sound? It must not be very loud, the sound should be darker than normal.

Thank You
Ray

Personally I truly believe its simply a matter of personal taste. I installed the Single Ford Racing (Borla) exhaust on my V-6 and I am, to this day, still awed by the deap mean growl that I hear every time I drive her. On my way to work is an underpass that I regularly rev it while under, the echo I hear is like music to my ears!!

Even the Lincoln LS V6 has duals as standard equipment! I want to put duals on my V6, but the ones from my Ford dealer (dealer installed aftermarket - not OEM or GT mufflers) have that pissy, high-whine popping noise that comes when you take your foot off the gas. The LS doesn't do that. Does anyone know if putting an X or H crossover between the two pipes prevents the poppin sound? Makes the car sound terrible (MHO)

If I were going to design an exhaust system it would look something like this... It would be 2 1/4" tubing and would include some resomators to eliminate that high pitched ting...
