i think it is because that is the engine that comes in most F150s. That is going to be a torque monster. Just a question, you could not find a junked up 5.4L 4v out of a GT500 or even a 4.6L 4v out of a Termi?

im pretty sure it is iron, i wasnt really looking this engine kinda fell in my lap. my dyno guy thinks with just heads and cams with a tune he says i might be around 400 hp so im happy with that. why do you not think this is a good idea?

i just talked to a couple people that have done this and they said with heads, cams and forged internals i should have no problem seeing 380 to the rear wheels. this is definately gonna cost some money

dumb question, but can a 4.6 take the 5.4 stroke and get punched out that far? I assume the bore spacing/deck height/accessory mounts are same? just wondering if a 5.4 in the aluminum 4.6 block was a possibility...

No. The 5.4 shares the heads and basic architecture, but the deck is higher to accommodate the increased stroke.

This is the primary reason why finding performance oriented intakes is hard with the swap. The larger deck places the heads further apart from each other. in turn you can't use the 4.6 Mustang intakes which are better for breathing and top end performance.

The Aviator intake is a good option however. Especially after being cleaned up a bit. I'm not positive that will mate up to the 3v head though.

yes jlmounce is right the intake alone has to be custom made @1895.00-2600.00

unless you want to use a huge cowl hood. many other custom parts are needed to make this work. the 4.6 could make the power with many supporting mods. the heads and cams are interchangeable though

Lucky

How much were you able to get it for and where?
What will you use for the transmission?
