Occasionally when I shift into 5th I can hear a sort of clicking sound when I release the clutch.

It seems like the shifter moves a little as well but stays in gear.

Anyone have any ideas as to what would cause this and if I should get it checked out or not?

Thanks,

David

My shifter will pop out of place a few seconds after shifting into 5th, but like you said, it stays in gear, I dunno why it does that

a sign of your clutch burning out?

When your clutch starts to go, you lose your top gears

Hmm...

I bought the car with only 15 miles on it and it has been doing this since I drove it off the lot.

Do you think I should take it to the dealer and have them check the clutch? I guess it is free but it is kind of out of my way.

Thanks,

David

Dont know what the clicking noise u are talkin bout is, but its normal for the shifter to move because the eng/trans are slightly moving when u hit the gas, or release it. the clicking noise is a concern if you ask me though.
