Check Engine Light On
#1
My car just turned 3,000km and the "check engine" light came on. The car seems to run fine, no different. I checked oil/antifreeze and all is good. Is it set to go on at 3,000km . Has anyone else had this problem with their V6? I seen in the GT forums a few issues but I couldn't find this in the V6 area....

The check engine or service engine soon lamp indicates a fault in the engine control system. If your car is running good it is not a critical concern, but get it in to your dealer at your earliest convenience for diagnostic and repair.

OK, so here's what they found. NOTHING  The error code that came up was EVAP. Which, they explained, was for a vacuum leak somewhere in the fuel system. However he also said that it may have been caused by not having the gas cap tightend. I know that sounds weird but I have heard of this before. They checked all the seals and they were all fine. So there ya go. Hopefully their right!!!

No it didn't go off on its own, they had to reset it. I got them to do the first servicing while it was there as well.
