CAI's-Who's is the best?

I'm looking at buying a cold air intake from American Muscle; possibly with the BAMA tuner. Who makes the best CAI? Which one is the best value? Does it make a difference which one you buy, or is it just preference?

this is the test for the gt's but I would think the results would be about the same. meaning the one they think is the best for the gt may be the best for the v6 also. Name brand wise. There are so many tuners out there and THEIR tunes are always the best. Check with the vendors on this site you will get good info to start with.

Save your money ! A CAI on the stock V6 does little to nothing to improve air flow. It may sound better though.
A tuner by itself or with a GT take off muffler is the trick.

I've got those, with a true dual exhaust system. I figure she's gotta be able to breathe...

Glen,
I read the article...thanks! It seems the C&L Intake is the best buy. The guys at American Muscle say the same thing. They have a CAI/Tune combo that I'll probably buy.

I think you will like the improved throttle responce and firmer shifts if your into that sort of thing. The cl is more money than the jlt without to much more output. Might want to see what the price diff is.

Well, the C&L CAI is installed, and the SCT performance tune is loaded. I only drove it to the gas station and back. I'll let you know how she runs...

i have to disagree. if you install the cai and tune it wont be stock any more. of course the muffler swap will help too. the c&l and the jlt perform about the same. the c&l looks a little better, but the jlt costs less. ive only had the jlt but i can tell you it made a huge difference in performance with the tune. always buy a cai that requires a tune. any other cai will do little to nothing.

ive had the takeoff mufflers for a couple years now. i really like them.

I would imagine if you are still running the single exhaust that a dual exhaust conversion should be considered in addition to the CAI/tuner upgrade.

I`ve sent a e-mail to see if the claims of 9 rwhp are with or without a tune.

Just out of curiousity, who did you get the engine brace from? How much of a difference does it make in handling?

I've been chriping the tires (unintentionally) from a dead stop alot lately. She seems peppier. As I drive on a military base often I have to watch my speed!
