well, since this is a tech forum...
Here is a visual aid showing how well the Ford 7.5 Trac-Lock performs... It also demonstrates the performance that the SCT X-Cal2 unleashes from your 4.0L! Hard to believe this car couldn't even chirp the tire (singlular) when I drove it off the lot... Other thing is I actually just left the car in "Drive"... Spin through 1st, spin through 2nd and a little chirp in 3rd and than catch... LOL!!!

I want my sct2, but doug is gone for a while due to the hurricane. I would rather wait for him to get back to order, but i dont know how long its going to be.
I can do a brake stand like (half) that lol.

Cool vid but I am a bit confused. Spin in first, second and a chirp in third, but you have an auto and the brake light was on for most of that vid. So you basically did a brake stand right? I'm not flaming here, just want to know exactly what you did. That is pretty impressive for a 4.0l. very nice![Thumb](https://themustangsource.com/forums/images/smilies/thumb.gif)

Basically hard on the brake... RPMs up to about 2000RPM... let of the brake enought for the rear wheels to spin... enough brake on the fronts to hold the car back somewhat.... Stomp on the gas... tires are spinning like crazy... MPHs hit the shift point.... Still on the brake enough to hold the car back a little bit.... tires still spinning...
I'm not very good as this... still really new to all this performance stuff... LOL!

haha you can always dump the clutch.. but i dont think thats to good for the car... haha
but im also curious, I know about the gearing.. what are the Tlock's goin for? and how much of a pain is that installation?.. maybe i'll have them install one for me when I have them put the gearing in my car..

T-lok and gears are going for around $200 each, plus installation (no idea on the that cost)

I'm seriously considering a t-lok and probably 3.73 gears. I really enjoy how she drives on the freeway... I think 4.10's would be revving the engine a bit high at speed.
scrming, what sorta rpm's are you hitting at normal freeway driving?... say... 70mph?

while we are on the subject of gera and t-locks, 2 questions.
1. when you buy gears, do you need to buy 2 sets, or are they sold as a pars(i'm clueless right now as to how they actually function)?
2. Will installing a T-lock cause any problems on rain/snow or will traction control still function normally?
thanks

Thanks for all the comments!!!
To answer a couple of questions...
I went with the 4.10s since I'm running an oversized tire. My back tire is 1.5 inch taller than stock... this works out to be about a 3.88 if I was running stock... I don't think I'ld want 4.10s with the stock tires size... LOL!
Right now i'm running just under 3000RPM when i'm cruising at 80MPH... It's not terrible... 70 to 75 MPH is around 2500RPM...
You buy gears in a "set". A ring gear and a pinion gear...
I bough my gears and Track-Lock from the shop that did the install.... so I paid a little more for the parts than if I shopped around... but I was on a tight schedule... so I didn't mind paying a little extra... gears, t-loc and labor was $900... I asked how much if i put of the t-loc and wanted to do it later... I was told $100 to install the t-loc...
So my opinion is if you are running stock tire size go for the 3.73.... and don't skimp... put a limited slip diff in there while you're in there! LOL!
