Best single axle back exhaust (inside)

If I want a nice deep rumble but i don't want hear a drone which axle back muffler should I install??
I have JBA single axle back nice agressive sound but drones between 2000 rpms a 3000 rps and after becomes loud inside.
I have read about new single Flowmaster American Thunder and Magnaflow single cat back, they are quite confortable inside of the car, no drone? Is it right?
Mac, Ford racing are too agressive I believe.
And what about stock GT muffler on the V6???
I am curious to read your exprerience with these exhaust systems...

I love my Magnaflow single. It sounds great with no drone. I also am very interested in the New American Thunder by Flowmaster......some say its the best/closest to the V8 you can get if you go duals and use an X-Pipe.

I have the A/T and LOVE them. I am experiencing zero drone. Mine is a V8, but there are no reasons why you shouldn't have the same results with a V6. Flows

Take a stroll through this exhaust sound clip libary... most of the available choices are represented there.

Personally, I've had the GT take-off single and thought it was quite nice. Then, added JBA headers and it got even nicer. Next decided to go duals and got a JBA y-pipe system. And, most recently, cut out the y-pipe and had a custom h-pipe welded in. All of those clips and way more can be found in the above thread.

Hi, Before switching to true duals I bought the Flowmaster and it sounded like a honda. I sent it back and got GT-Take offs. They sounded good to me.

Rygen, Are the one's that sound so good on the V6's the V8 version of the American Thunders? Because I know they make a set for the V6's.

What is the part number of the one's you have??

You also have a X-Pipe right?? Is it a Magnaflow True X?

Yes, mine are the V8 mufflers. And the single V6 AT that Flowmaster sells is a single V8 muffler. I had the Mangnaflow Trux, yes.

Thanks for all your replies..
What I want to know is:
for you guys who have the GT muffler on single exhaust, do you have drone, is it loud, too loud or just agressive enough for a muscle car??

The single gt muffler is going to give you a noticebale sound improvement. It's not like a V8 but it sounds fairly aggressive. Really, the best sound you get out of these sixes IMO is to go with a dual setup. I just traded in my V6 for a GT but I had the dual gt mufflers on my V6 with a custom h-pipe and I was impressed with the way it sounded. When you get above 3500ish prms it sounds get a little buzzier though.

I also like the GT take-off ... it has gotten noticably louder lately ... with about 1000 miles on it. Gonna put the other GT muffler on and go dual eventually ... maybe as a XMAS present to myself ...

I would not trade my Magnaflow for anything. I had a MRT aeroturbine and the thing droned so loud I could not hear my tunes (and I listen to music WAY to loud) and it rattled my center console something horrible, basically way to "rice-a-roni" for me. I traded up for the Magnaflow and it has a nice low rumble/hum while normal driving with no drone, also has a great sound when you floor it. It's not very easy to pick out a muffler for a V6 as some of the single mufflers stick out way to far from the rear as most are made/sold for the GT, and the six does not have the extra bumper cut outs which in my humble opinion looks rice. I have heard Flowmaster, Magnaflow and Aero trubine out of the three I would pick Magnaflow first then Flowmaster. I had mine done by a shop, who allowed me to pick my tip, which lines up nice with the rear for a clean finish. Pic included, wish you the best in your search for the right sound.

Many say the MRT for single. I put on the JBA and if I were to do it over again I'd go flowmaster.

the magnaflow is just great....i just got back from a 150 mile cruise...no drone, just a great rumble but with a nice deep base when joining the freeway on ramp. The best easy mod.

Which magnaflow muffler are you using? That sounds like just what I am looking for.
