Hey guys,
If you'd like to see me then you can check out the January Issue of " Four Wheeler" magazine(www.FourWheeler.com). Page 86-89, I'm on page 89 reading the dyno read out from JBA's Dyno in San Diego, California.
I flew out back in Sept. to dynotune two trucks with the www.ExplorerExpress.com X-charger for the 4.0 SOHC. I normally do the tuning for these kits by mail order but decided to fly out for this one to see what we could get out of it on the dyno.
The mail order tune was safe and close as expected but I was able to squeeze 15 rwhp extra and 10 rwtq just because I could add some timing and see the results in person.
The numbers are a bit low because of the type of dyno it is, Dyno Dynamics which reads lower then the Mustang dyno but for tuning is an excellent choice. As you see in the picture it gives you a read out of a/f ratio as per 100 rpm's all the way through the run. Oveall we made a 61% difference over the stock pull, 153 rwhp and 176 rwtq as compared to 225 rwhp and 257 rwtq and this was spinning HUGE 4x4 tires and through a transfer case.
The cool part was afterwards I got a tour of JBA's facilities, they hand weld every part they sell!
Just a bit of interesting reading.....
Thanks, Doug.
