I am just posing a question here, I ordered a 2006 V6 with the pony package but have recently been worried if I will like it (can't change order, want all the other stuff) and I was wondering if any one would want to swap their standard V6 grill for the Pony Grill? Just wondering?

I have a regular V6 grill I recently took off my car (did a GT swap). I can probably help you out if you find the Pony grill not to your liking. That way you could keep both just in case you change your mind or ever sell the car.

You don't mention where you live, you're welcome to my old V6 grille if you want to drive by and pick it up (I'm near Dallas). I did a grille swap same as Paul, the stock grille is just taking up space in the garage.

Thats extremely nice of you but I live in New Jersey, thats a bit too far for me to travel. especially with out a comfy Mustang to do it in. I would be willing to reimburse you for shipping costs if I decide to do this. I asked this question of P_kiley so maybe you can shen your opinion on this as well. Do the GTs come stock with brightness control for the fog lamps (like the control I seen one of you had to install in a pic)? If so its possible that Ford will do the same for the Pony Package and that makes me worry about a set of controls that are not used and the wireing(spelling?) that would be left over I am no car wiz.

Yeah, it's a long haul from Jersey You could probably buy a dozen grilles for the cost of gas! There's no rheostat on the factory GT fogs (nor the conversion kits), it's just on/off. You rotate the headlight switch to turn the headlights on and pull it out to turn the fogs on. If you put a regular grille on, I'd just abandon the wiring behind the grille, that way you can put the grille and lights back on in the future if you want. The pigtails will no doubt have plastic sleeves over them so it shouldn't be a problem.

Tom: Reply sent. Condensed version, you pay for shipping and it's yours.

And yeah, Tres is right about the switch, should not present any sort of problem.

Have those of you that switched from the v6 grill to the GT grill have any fit problems? If so how did ya'll fix em? I know that us to be somewhat of an issue of snug fitting.

No fit problems of note. It's not identical to the V6, obviously, but it looks really great! You'd have to look really close to see it. I made the relief cuts in the bumper cover with a fine-tooth hacksaw blade. I was able to control the cut and make it cleanly. You can't see it once the grill is mounted. My pics are posted on my Car Domain page if you want the link. Just let me know.
