I've never used any nitrous sytems but from all of these ZEX posts, I am really liking the idea. How safe is this kit for a daily driver? Is there anything to worry about, will it dramatically shorten engine life?

You can reply with a PM if you'd like. Thanks!

I'm running the 100HP shot in my little V6 auto... it's my daily driver too.. I've made 20 passes at the track and probably 8 or so dyno pulls... so far everything is looking good and holding together... I believe the Zex is very safe as long as you use common sense... like get a good dyno tune just to double check that everything is good... especially the A/F... Don't go crazy.. go nice and easy... we started with the 75HP shot and worked up to the 100HP... I'm sure other will comment... but for me this is my first nitrous experience... and it's been very postive!

Even though I have my opinions about the Zex kits I do respect people using them. I dont expect to have anybody pull their system because I had an opinion and I hope you folks can take my criticism even though it may be something you may not want to read.

P.S. As long as you folks cant best my future 150 shot I'll be fine with my choice. If not... :bang:

Put simply, nitrous shortens engine life.

You can say the exact same thing about a supercharger or turbo. Nitrous is known to be more "violent" but if tuned properly the motor will last just as long as any other power added motor.

Chris, like scrming said, it has to be respected. And a complete kit need to have a heater to maintain that pressure, very important as u know.

I was worried about the WOT electronics, but It hits just right. To me it just feels like a bigger motor, more cubes. In first @ WOT with a 100 shot is a blast. And a purge is needed as well, I have yet to install mine. I wanted to see how gentle the hit is without one.

All good Dan, dont sweat nothing. U will reach your goal for sure

I have had the same issues with the WOT switch on the throttle position sensor and believe it should be cured with the TSB, I know the problem was present after manipulating the TPS wire when checking spark plugs, the problem went away when I disconnected the wire from the wire splice at the TPS. Like 169stang said you should have it soldered. It is most likely this problem, not a component of the nitrous system. I have had some issues with the car running very rich at upper RPM's in higher gears with the 125hp shot. As for the safety of this kit I would suggest it to anyone looking to start with N20, just don't go over 125hp, even though the kit claims it can.

People, please please please stop using the incorrect term for Nitrous Oxide.

N02 defines Nitrogen Dioxide.
N20 defines Nitrous Oxide.
