Another vote here for the stock pipes.
IMO, it ain't all that quiet. It definitely got louder after the JLT, tune and 4.10's. Being that the only route to more HP is big $$ longtubes, I'll be sticking with stock.

I actually like the stock exhaust sound. I am sticking with it, just need to get some good looking tips though, I don't like the way the stock pipes look out the back, but other than that I'm happy.

The Drone that you hear is the natural resonant frequency of the exhaust pipe due to its particular length. It also hapens to usually be linked with an H pipe on the ford HO Motors with the 13726548 Firing order. It usually resonates @ 1900 - 2100 RPM's the loudest under medium to High loads. But mostly only heard with a chambered or welded type muffler that dosnt use any type of packing. If you put an X-Pipe on the car it will cancel out more of the lower exhuast tones helping to rid of that "Drone" sound and also quieting the exhuast. But the Buy product of the X - pipe by cutting out some lower tones makes the sound raspier and higher pitched. Some people call this a "Racey" sound which has a more Foreign Car sound. I think that by putting on and X-Pipe you get rid of the true "Muscle Car Sound" that mustangs are supposed to have. I have Spintech Mufflers and they sound big and bold with a deep muscular sound. If I were to add an X-Pipe it would get quieter and I would lose the deep tone. To each his own.... I preffer to live with the drone. I will be Dynamatting my trunk to cut down on the sound from the mufflers in the interior of the car.

I'll measure them next time I go out to the car, but the SLP tips are close to a foot long. They are monsters. You can only adjust them to stick out about 3-4 inches though. But that's plenty.
