Yet another help me find an exhaust for my taste

I just got my longtubes with hi-flow cats and I kinda dislike the loudness of my exhaust now. Before the longtubes my exhaust was a tad too loud for me when it droned, but I enjoyed it. My setup is:

Hotrod cams
Kooks LT
Hi-flow catted H
Borla stinger catback system

What I am looking for is something that gives me a good deep rumble, but I don't feel like I'll wake up the neighbors when I crank it in the middle of the night. Something with less drone would be nice also.

It's always a difficult task to try to help someone else with exhaust - everyone is different, and some tolerate a little drone better than others... I personally love the sound of my SLP Loudmouths, but the car is not heavily modified, not a daily driver, and I typically don't have it out too late or early.

You may want to take a look at the Corsas. They are pricey, but the drone is eliminated, and they have three different levels of muffler so you can probably find one with a sound you like. Outside of that I always tell people to be patient and visit big shows, find someone with mods similar to yours and ask them to start their car so you can hear it first hand. I have never found anyone who didn't jump at the chance to "show" off their car's sound.

I would love to hear your setup as this is what I would eventually like on my car (cams, LT, Cat-H, and borlas)

It took the Magnaflows to take that raw raggy sound out of my exhaust after I added longtubes.

I made soooo many exhaust threads vids it makes my head spin. But with the computer crash on this site and my personal computer crash at home in the fall I'm not sure I could show him anything until I can make new. I will search around a little to see if anything still exists on this site. Okay Adaaaam??

Forgot I had them on photobucket. Here are the last vids I made with longtubes and Magnaflow mufflers. This was my 4th exhaust system and I stopped with this one.

Thanks guys for the input Scott, I was looking for your thread when you were doing the research, but Ithink it was lost I was glad to see you post, becuase I thought me and you had a lot of the same feelings with the stingers after going to longtubes. Of course, that is just a memory now and I don't remember the specifics. Anyways, my guy has a set of magnaflows on his wifes car that he's going to let me test for a week. I'm going to see what I think and if I like them or not.

Danny,
A while back I asked you for pictures of your ducktail because I have the same foose one ready to install. Could you get me some close pics of the spoiler. I'm mainly looking at the way the lines flow with the car. I will definetly get you a video before wednesday. All I have to say is, it sounds nasty and loud... Not a bad nasty by no means. However, if you like the way a race car sounds, then you'll like the stingers

I'll get her cleaned up and some pics as soon as we get a nice weekend. As for the Stingers, I already have them, just wanting to hear the LT with the Catted-H with Stingers, as that's my eventual plan.

Thx

Danny,
I went ahead and got it installed. So don't worry about the pics. Thanks anyway.

Almost exactly same as my setup. Except I don't have hot rod cams and my mid-pipe is a high flow catted x. I love it! But it does get quite loud when you step on it. The drone has never bothered me much luckily. I hear Corsas are best for that, but don't have any personal experience with them.

If you ever want to sell your mid-pipe let me know. I'd like to try an H pipe instead of the X.

Well, my tuner let me try his magnaflows catback system on my car. I have to say, overall it's a clean sounding exhaust. No drone, no trumpeting. For me, I find it too quiet idle is about the same, but when you punch it, it just doesnt roar like I feel it should. So, I'm thinking of doing some resonators with the stingers. My ears hurt from listening to all the exhaust videos. There seems to be only 3 exhaust that I've heard thru youtube that I really like.
  1. Stingers
  2. Flowmasters
  3. Pypes mid muffler
I have the stingers, I've not heard anything good about flowmasters, and I'm still researching the pypes.

This sounds like it fixes the problems I am having
