You may want to talk to your dealer. I think that there is going to be an upgrade path from the Xcalibrator. It is supposed to be reasonably priced....

Anyone know any (online) stores that are selling them yet? Who has the best price?

I've had mine ordered from Justin at www.VelocityMustangPerformance.com
for a week or so, just waiting for it to be released. He's got a bunch of them, just waiting to ship them out. Mine should ship today or tomorrow. (I'm in the Navy, and in no way affiliated with VMP, but that's where I know to get one). Justin has been very informative and patient in my emails to him, and he gave me a great price shipped with tunes, so I feel confident reccommending him.

The exchange program for the original Xcal won't be out for a month or so, according to Brian at SCT.

I'm getting mine from Justin as well. I'll make the trek up to get mine. 3 hrs drive. I'm also getting the Innovate LC-1 Wideband and SCT's Pro Racer's package. I'll be able to datalog what's really going on with the car in real-time. Better than a dyno! I'll then be able to make my own adjustments or have programs emailed to me. The XCal II comes with a USB, as opposed to a serial port. :banana2:

You can reuse it in another car. You just have to take the original car back to Factory tune. I believe that once you take the original car back to stock, the box is able to download a new factory tune and the new tunes. You may want to go over to the SCT website forum and post that question there. I know there will eventually be a upgrade program/discount. They have to be able to do something with the XCalI's if they're going to take them back in exhange. I've heard, only speculation, that the exhange will knock $100 off the XCal II. You may want to talk to a dealer and see what they're doing. Steeda doesn't know anything about them-atleast last week they didn't. Justin, www.VelocityMustangPerformance.com, has mine already, but I'm waiting for him to get in the wideband and Pro racer's package.

How sweet is it to be able to read engine codes due to Check engine lights?
I'm excited about the user capabilities with this one!

I thought you could read codes and datalog from any car, but the flasher would be locked into one car.

Check www.sctflash.com for more info.

I sell mine for $399 with three programs plus $5 for shipping.

They programming can only be used on the vehicle it is setup for. The datalogging and code retrieval abilities can be used on ANY EEC5 and newer Ford vehicle, pretty much any 95-96 and newer Ford.

Thanks, Doug.
