Here's the poll . . . .

Folks who are doing a group buy of the Western Motorsports Ram Air CAI started it . . . . but anyone who wants an X-2 is welcome to get in on it.

BRENSPEED and some of our members had raised some questions, these are reflected in vote options of the poll.

Here's the link to the WMS CAI group buy discussion that started this . . . http://forums.bradbarnett.net/index....pic=31834&st=0

It's a group purchase of the SCT Xcalibrator 2 with tunes from your choice of two outstanding companies . . . BamaChips and BRENSPEED . . . at a discounted price.

BamaChips has committed to a minimum of five orders required for the price break and an order deadline of August 31st.

Bama is offering the X-2 @ $350 including 3 stock or CAI specific tunes. OFFER EXPIRES AUGUST 31st, 2005.

Bama has tunes for the following CAIs. .
- MMR
- C&L
- K&N
- WMS (late this month)
- AFE (late this month)

When Brent has configuration information he needed from the results during this poll I'm sure he'll give us his best deal too.

I've volunteered to collect the real names of people who want to get in on this. In addition to your name I'll need your e-mail address and the company you'd prefer to go with.

If you want in on this group buy and can commit to purchasing prior to August 31, 2005 . . . please PM me and I'll forward the information to the respective companies.

NOTE: If corresponding with either of these companies regarding this deal please reference The Mustang Source X-2 group buy and this thread.

I bought the WMS intake/ram and would like to purchase an X-2 w/ WMS specific tune for an automatic transmission

Thats how I voted, but I can't hit the Aug. 31 deadline.

I believe Doug at Bama said he'd do them for $379.00 after August 31st.

Hmm...i've found the X-Calibrator 2 for $350 at regular pricing. They can't do better than that? Maybe like $320...which includes overnight shipping?

I'll PM you, don't want everyone rushing to buy it from there, i'm certainly not going to hijack your thread and sale.

No tunes will be done. It really isn't that hard to load a certain octane tune. Again, not trying to hijack the thread, if they can do $320, which includes overnight shipping...i'll get in on this group buy.

Hey . . no worries . . . . I was thinking they might want to toss their hat in the ring to make this interesting.

Personally . . . . I'm looking for performance, customer service and price in that order and have an open mind.

This may help for perspective on the discounts:

Bamachips regular price on the X-cal2: $399.00
Brenspeed regular price on the X-cal2: $369.00

I don't know what they charge for custom tunes. But on a Group Buy the cost can easily be distributed over the entire Buy. I hope Alternative Auto sees this. But I doubt they will compete on pricing. Also, I need to research both companies tunes for the auto tranny. Guess I'll be spending my Sunday reading the boards.

goat678 - if I get the tune with the intake and ram air and auto trans will that help the auto lag and will I need another tune if I get the BBK TB

The Lyin' King - I believe Bama and BRENSPEED both take care of the lag for the autos and drive-by-wire with their tunes for the stock intake but neither has a tune developed yet for the WMS . . . they are awaiting shipment just like us.

As far as the BBK TB goes, I would expect it to need a tune over and above that which is provided for the stock throttle body . . . .

94tbird - im in if it includes the tunes for C&L, SLP loudmouth and Jet Flo TBS

The Lyin' King - The SLP Loudmouth and Jet Flo TBS won't need a tune and both companies offer tunes for the C&L

MaverickMLFD371 - so how much would the x-cal2 with a K&N tune cost with the TMS group buy?

The Lyin' King - $350 from Bama, BRENSPEED hasn't checked in with pricing yet.
Ford05MustangGT - Hmm...i've found the X-Calibrator 2 for $350 at regular pricing. They can't do better than that? Maybe like $320...which includes overnight shipping?

I'll PM you, don't want everyone rushing to buy it from there, i'm certainly not going to hijack your thread and sale.

The Lyin' King - I believe Xcal vendors are locked in by their distribution agreement with SCT to certain pricing levels and can be disenfranchised for violating the agreement so I don't think we'll see the pricing structure you're seeking offered by these vendors.

Besides, the point here is to obtain a performance bundle . . . the X-2, custom-intake specific tunes and outstanding support from premium tuners for a bargain price.

I don't doubt you can find an X-2 cheaper with NO tunes (again, no flame intended) but I'm looking for performance, customer support and price in that order.

DISCLAIMER - PLEASE CORRECT ME IF I'VE GOT MY WIRES CROSSSED ON THE ANSWERS TO THESE QUESTIONS.

Yes, that's right.

I'm already getting a bunch of hate mail from " Other " SCT dealers for posting this pricing for the X-2's and I understand why. I used to sell mine for $365 until SCT raised their dealer pricing. BrenSpeed will also raise his pricing on Sept 1st from his quote $369. He's choosen to keep his pricing low this entire month, I've had to raise my pricing because I've placed orders for new X-2's this month, I make stock orders twice a week I move so many but I do alot more then Mustangs as you'd find if you were to put my business name in on a google search. In other words I'm already having to pay the new pricing from SCT so I've had to raise my prices.

Now, I'm taking a large hit selling these for the $350 price quote by the end of the month and you'll never see them from any SCT dealer this low again, well anytime soon anyway, if you do then they'll be canned SCT tunes and not have the time and commitment in them like those from BamaChips and Brenspeed.

Please be assured that from either of us you will get quality programming for your vehicle.

Thanks, Doug.
