XCAL2 or LIVEWIRE ?

I almost bought the xcal2 combo from Doug and noticed the new SCT Livewire...What do you guys think? Should I go for the new Livewire for an extra $200 or stick with the XCAL2?

Just wanted to see the feed back. Is the new Livewire way better? I see they have an exchange plan for the XCAL2. I do not want to buy the old unit if everyone is exchanging for the new one...Help...

Thanks for your input...

Man... I don't know... Definitely more versatile... but at nearly double the cost, without double the performance

The Livewire adds the acclerometer features and a port for A/F (if you have the sensor and meter).
More for gaining data than actual performance modification.
I have an accelerometer which covers most Livewire additional features.
They cost about $150 or less. It also allows me to do the logging without my tuner plugged into the OBDII plug (which I think is a pain when driving).

For me personally, I just don't know if the benefit offsets the large additional cost. Many people have different needs though, but for me it's too much $$, esp when i already have an xcalII

My XCAL2 combo from Doug just shipped today. I had to think hard about getting the Livewire instead as well.

But I figured that $200 could be spent elsewhere on the car.

I'm also in limbo. I like the options that the livewire may provide, as overall it sounds like a more useful tool. I'm not buying until later this month - so hopefully some others will provide feedback before then.

I will not trade in my X-Cal II to spend an additional $400 on the Livewire.
That being said if I were purchasing today I would probably purchase the Livewire so that I could monitor a couple of parameters while driving or troubleshooting without the need for a laptop.
I'm currently using my predator for that purpose.
