to the XCal II with the BamaChips 91 Octane performance tune? Doug will upgrade my Xcal I to an XCal II with 3 of his tunes for $200.00 (I'll still be using the JLT II CAI). From what I've read Doug is quality - so I have no issues with him delivering - but the question is will I really be getting any more performance than I currenly have with the JLT II and the DTP 91 Octane tune? I like the thought of having a tuner that has some adjustment capabilities and the ability to clear CEL's....

Anyone switched from the DTP to the BamaChips tune?

Yes, its well worth it!! You will get his fantastic tunes, including his Performance & Torque Tunes!!! Plus if you have any problems, his customer service is outstanding!!! If you have any upgrades to the vehicle and need a differnet tune, he will gladly email you the tune free of charge! The xcal2 will gladly clear the trouble codes for you and you may feel a different increase in power with his tunes! I'm very satisfied with his tunes that he gave me for my K&N intake and I could not be happier!!!

I just got the right tune from Brent @ DTP for my JLT series II intake and couldn't be happier. Last year I managed to run 13.3 @ 105mph at the drag strip with just the JLT I intake with the spacer in it and I suspect I'll be able to do better than that this year once I put lower control arms on and some wider tires. I think if you can get most of your $$ back for the predator then it may be worth it but I don't think I'm going to switch now. I'm quite happy.

I dont think its worth it at all. Changing to a new handheld isnt going to do much in your case, the tune it can handle isnt any different. Now, if you believe that you will be using the live datalogging features of the XII then it should be worth it.

If you had an automatic, I'd say yes. If you have a manual, save your money.

Thanks guys for the feedback. I recently upgraded from the JLT "Sleeved" version CAI to the JLT II. After installing the sleeved JLT I thought I had noticed a drop in performance......and it turns out the engine was runnning too rich with the original DPT tune as the sleeve decreased the inside diameter of the CAI. Now with the JLT II installed and using the orig DPT 91 Octane tune it runs great again....just like when I first installed the JLT before the warping issues. I'm really torn now - as the stang runs great - but I know that SuperChips is not going to offer the "trade up" option forever.....and $200.00 for Doug's tunes and an Xcal II may be too hard to pass up.....

By the way I have to thank Jay for taking the time with me over the phone recently.....excellent customer service - evey time I call with questions - he's right there!!
