LOL... no, I don't think so. I plan on keeping this car forever! When it comes due for smog testing in 2011, it will be retired as a track-only car at that time. I'm thinking about going "old-school" with it then, and dropping in a 514 cubic inch motor, with a 6-71 blower on it! That should get me into the 8-sec zone in the quarter-mile!

Car - out the door $28900
Mods - approx $6000 to date

Total - $34900

Now for $34900 I have a car that Looks as good as a Shelby GT (IMO) and performs better than cars that cost more. Power adder puts me at $42K
Lets put it this way, whatever you buy your gonna mod.
Nothing is fast enough.

All due respect here because your car is amazing but...all that and only high 11s? I guess you don't have to worry much about anything breaking but wow. Just seems like you'd be faster.

This thread is kinda funny. You can tell who all the people are from modular fords. They are the ones with $7k+ in drivetrain mods, a grand or so in suspension mods, more money tied up in gauges than their stereo, and 85 bucks in body and appearance mods

your right i should be faster. thats what a ****ty custum tune will do to your car. i couldnt race it on the supplied KB tune because with the 10psi pulley the air fuel ratio was too lean so i got a custom tune that never worked right. i had to reload it every few runs down the track to clear it so it would run ok. pain in the *** and im out the $$$ for the tune too. now i gotta get the car retuned

That the idea for me. Bone stock looking on the outside beast on the inside. Amount of money I have spent on stereo and appearence mods = $39 for the side strips at the dealership when I bought the car! LOL

Don is right about the built motor thing. I just hope my stock motor holds up till I can build a shortblock on the one piece at a time plan over the next few months.

It's true, Mod fords mostly go and TMS mostly show. I have tried to balance a little of both but when I add it up it's mostly show.
