I'm thinking about switching to Nitto 555R drag radials for everyday use. Is anyone here running those on the street daily? What are your opinions regarding traction (wet & dry)? This is what I considering:

18x10 Chrome Bullitts

Nitto 555R 305/45-18

Well, if I go this route, I'll have a pair of 17x9 chrome bullitts, with 275/50-17 Nitto 450 rubber available to sell.

I was looking at the same tires for a set of
Raceline GT 18X10s

For the price I also like the
Anthracite FR500 Wheel
and
Chrome Shelby Mustang GT500 Wheel
but they wont fit these tires...

Nitto says the 305/45-18 will fit a 9.5" wheel... so I think the chrome GT500's would work for you. Unless of course, you're looking at the 305/35-18s.

I didn't see those, that sure would fill the wheel well I was looking at the 35's
have you figured out what that would do to your gearing?

I'm running 4.10s and 275/50-17s already (~27.9" dia), and with the blower they just roast on the street. The 305/45s are more than an inch wider and almost an inch taller, and being DRs I'm assuming they will stick better than what I have now.

We ran them as long as our turbo motor lasted, and we will run them again daily.

I've got the 305/35/18's on my daily driver. In the dry they are obviously very sticky but they are amazingly good in the rain too. I think my nitto DR's are better in the rain than my stock tires.

shifty, can you post exactly what you have on your car in that department again, tire brand, model, size, where you got the rims, what springs, and anything else i need to know to copy you exactly? thank you!

also, any rubbing or other little things you have noticed/wished you had done.

I want these 305s BAD. Will they rub the fender with Steeda springs? I do hope they do not say Drag Radials on the side because I will pass if they do. Please advise..

I always thought that you shouldn't mix thread patterns on the car?

I have done some research
Im looking into this set up Raceline GT Wheels
Back 18X10 with Nitto 555R 305/45R18's
Front 18X8 with Nitto 555 245/45ZR18's
Only down fall to jack the back of the car you need 4 jacks!
you have to lift the suspension and then lift the body off the suspension.
So if theres a flat it means you must call a tow truck...
