My boss keeps accusing me of running an auto parts business on the side. I had to rearrange my file cabinet so nobody can see anything when they walk by, but if they walk in it looks like the back room at Pep Boys. The pile was bigger last week until last weekend I installed my LCAs and flowmasters. It will get bigger in 2 weeks when my drag radials, autometer gauges, and line lock stuff comes in.

Yes I know the stuff is supposed to be on the car but it's 18 degrees and snowing out. It just happened to be 55 last weekend and I managed to get some parts on.

That is double freaking fantastic!

I have to skim the $$ first, then I try to get the part on while she is at work! She got in and seen my MGW stuff and was like......"Hey, was that there before?"

She bought my 1/4 window scoops though.

Springs and BMR Panhard bar next.

I can see it now...

"Hi my name is Dustin and it's been 3 weeks since I last purchased Mustang parts."

Group: "Hi Dustin!"

If you think that was good, you'll like this

Here's my little shrine to the drag strip gods with all my little cars and time slips. I have the picture of my car burning out at the track hanging up along with my fastest time slip hanging up next to it. Every time I do better the new slip goes up.

My girlfriend encourages me to buy parts! She draws the line when I leave stuff on the kitchen table though.

Chance of getting mods...

Single... 100%

Girlfriend... 90%

Engaged... 50% (hiding parts at work stage begins)

Married... 0 - 10% (If you can buy a $400 purse than I can buy parts!)

Thank god I'm the exception to that rule! Mrs. don_w likes going fast (almost) as much as I do, so getting goodies for the car are a non-issue for me. I just buy what I want, when I want it. And I make sure my wife knows exactly when parts are being delivered at my house so she can be there to make sure UPS doesn't just leave things sitting outside. I even print out tracking website info for her. I have new drag radials and driveshaft loops due this week. When the tires arrive, she will take them so they can be mounted on my wheels.

p.s. And if you haven't seen her behind the wheel... take a look at the open header video in my signature.

I've had stuff shipped to work out of convienence, does that count? My G/F really doesn't mind me spending money on my car. She knows that it's my hobby and in return I don't hassle her about spending 400 dollars on a purse or 100 dollars on a haircut, etc. etc.

Personally, I just buy what I want - when I want it - and the wife is alright with it. However, my neighbor across the street had the nice tips cut off his flowmasters and had the stockers welded on so that his wife wouldn't notice the new tips

It's mainly convenience for me as well. There are people here to sign for it when nobody is at home. Our shipping dept is starting to get pissed at me though I think. They stopped delivering stuff to my desk and started calling me to pick it up.

My financee doesn't care what I do to the car, she just doesn't want to hear about "your stupid car". If I stop talking about mods I hear "I don't care about your stupid car". Fine with me, she can't drive it anyway. Besides I act the same way if she starts wedding talk or talks about her new "cute shoes". It's just in one ear and out the other.

She looks at purses and shoes on ebay and I look at car parts.

When she gets mad at me she tells me "your girlfriend the computer is calling you, why don't you go play with her" She says this at least once a day.

Ah yes, we must keep the balance.

I've got some mods lined up to buy, but have to balance the funds to accomodate the trips to the mall (yeah, you guys know what I mean!).
