Whipple guys please chime in

This is more of a cosmetic question as opposed to a tech question, but it involves the Whipple so here goes. Have any of you fellow Whipple owners had problems with the decals/stickers on the blower itself. I know the intake tube oval decal sucks. I have had two of the ovals and both just got too hot and won't stick, not even with superglue. The long rectangular decal on the passenger side of the blower literally slid straight down. I guess the temps are just too hot. I'm calling Whipple today to see if they will send me a new set of decals because we have a big show coming up. Anybody else having this problem and how did you fix it?

I just got off the phone with Whipple. They are sending me two sets of decals, one just so I have something for the upcoming show and the other to experiment with by trying different adhesives. I'm going to put adhesive promotor on the intake tube oval prior to putting the sticker on. I don't know what to do about the stickers for the blower unit itself. Whipple was well aware of the problem and was eager to send me the new decals. Great customer service!!!!!!!!!

I don't like advertisement banners / emblems / decals, etc from any manufacturuer. My Whipple stickers came off the minute I opened my box. In fact, the brushed "Whipple" on top of the compressor was blacked out with high temp black paint.

I also removed the MSD sticker off my digital 6A box and Jacobs sticker off my Ultra Coil, both on my IROC-Z.

Weird...did you take the IROC-Z badges off too?

I took mine off, they started melting off so I just ripped them all off.

I have to agree! I did the same thing with my Iroc, I shaved off all the emblems and decals. I like keeping things simple, I shaved off a few other parts of the car as well. The louvers on the hood came off while doing some body work, and I ended up likeing them better when they were off! I eventually wanted to weld up the holes left in the hood, but I moved and had to sell the car before I could do that

No, just aftermarket stuff. I did not want my engine compartment to be a billboard for aftermarket companies. I like it clean: black and chrome with no stickers! Notice my MSD box? As for the exterior, no I did not remove my IROC-Z emblems. Mine looks pretty much original except the hood.

Just remember, even slugs can be made to go fast with enough money thrown at it. Just ask the Hunduh guys.

Decals came in from Whipple. They sent me two sets. I'm gonna play around with some sort of a solution to this problem. If I can't figure anything out I'll get a good quality vinyl ford blue oval to go on the raised oval shape on the intake tube.

Somewhat of an update here..........The new decals came right off too, especially the intake tube decal. I took my useless decals and sprayed GOO GONE on the backs of them and let them sit for about five minutes. The weak-a$$ adhesive wiped right off. I then washed them with Dawn dishwashing soap to remove the oily film left behind by the GOO GONE. I'm in the process of trying to find some high temp double sided tape and see if that helps. I've found several manufactures of the stuff for high temp. applications, but just don't know which one to go with. Oh well, trial and error.

Btw......when the adhesive is removed from the backs of the decals they have a smooth metal finish on the back. I really think a good double sided tape will stick well. I just have to decide on a brand. Stay tuned...............................
