Whipple Gen 2 Numbers - Tom's 07 Whipple S/C 9lbs. 472.73RWHP/447.26RWTQ

Tom came to us with his 2007 Mustang GT with a Generation 2 Whipple Kit running the 3.625" upper pulley making just about 9lbs peak. When we custom tuned the car using SCT's Advantage III Level 4 Software, he left with over 470RWHP and almost 450RWTQ on 93 octane and an 88/89 degree day with 30% humidity!!!

STD numbers were 483.70RWHP & 457.63RWTQ. To compare.

Manual car. Auto would have been around maybe 452-462RWHP auto SAE, 462-472RWHP auto STD. Sound about right?

The whipple Gen2 kit at 9 lbs followed the same curve as the Gen1 kit at 10 lbs. If we had gone up to 6500, it would have been right around our Whipple Gen1 tune @ 480RWHP SAE corrected. The torque was actually 3 ft lbs. more peak, but all around higher. That's pretty good. The IAT's were about 5-7 degrees cooler throughout with fans in the same location, and only a 1-2 degree drop in outside temperature. So I think it actually does a better job in preventing parasitic loss and running cooler as claimed in their press releases. Monster-sized pulley, though.

Two questions:

1. Is this safe on a stock bottom end at the 9lbs quoted?

2. How much

Yes it's safe. We keep the air fuels correct/accurate and leave the timing conservative enough where you wont have any issues with any type of detonation. As long as the kit is installed correctly and tuned correctly you will be fine with this amount of power on the block.

The price is $5775.99 until whipples lovely $1000 dollar price increase which I believe is in the next few upcoming weeks. I have alot of customers who've already paid for the kits, and we're holding them until they're ready for install and tune.

We also mail order this kit. What year is the vehicle?

Wow , 19 deg is safe for a stock short block? I'm running max 15 deg and I got 434RWHP and 447RWTQ... on a mustang dyno.

I meant to write 17. Yea 19 would be safe, but probably pushing detonation level... especially if the gas isn't good quality. I'll try and pull up the timing graph next time I'm in front of the Dynojet computer.
