Whipple Announces HUGE Price Increase!

Just to let everyone know, we confirmed yesterday the rumor of Whipple & Ford Racing both enforcing a huge price increase on all of their kits accross the board per Mike @ Whipple.

They're going up nearly $1000 dollars by the middle-end of this month!

We're still selling these kits for $5775.99 (10 PSI HO Intercooled - Black), so if anyone is interested in getting in before the madness, give us a call. We can ship kits same or next business day depending on which finish, and which kit. Check out our pricing on the other kits as well, we can offer great deals!

I hope they have a good reason for that increase.

Usually they do, with the exception that the price of materials don't go up, but 1000 bucks is beyond just normal material costs....what gives?

Why would someone now choose a Whipple over a KB with a $1000 price difference?

I would bet that KB will have to go up in price somewhere down the road also. The price of metals (especially aluminum) has gone up drastically over recent months. Not sure that justify's a $1000 price increase though.

I can't think of any reason for THAT great of an increase. I guarantee everyone follows suit, though. Maybe not that dramatic, but 200 bucks minimum.

I would be inclined to agree with ya, metal has gone up...but not 1000 bucks worth...

Don't forget Ford's involvement with Roush...... How much is the new Roush blower? Wouldn't surprise me if someone at Roush yelled foul and someone at Ford not only realized they need to keep Roush somewhat happy, but also that they could make some additional cash on these things.

Just another reason to buy a Saleen I guess.......

Not only has the cost of materials gone up, but so has the cost of transportation (thank you lovely gas prices). I just read an article that showed markups around 25-35% on everyday things we use will be happening shortly (have already seen this in my area). $1,000.00 may seem excessive but who knows what it is costing them to produce the parts these days.

Saleen will follow. I already heard that they were restructuring things.

I know that what used to cost us 5.00 to ship with ups now costs atleast 7 bucks. And that's pretty proportional.

It's about 3 emails a week we get about price increases all accross the board from different manufacturers.

15% is a pretty large, one-time increase. And CR I'm sure you're right about the Saleen kits, I was just bustin' your chops.

Yeah a little increase, but 1000. Yeah we can sit back and watch there sales decrease.

Thats why I use nitrous. Now the bang for the buck is looking even more better.

A thousand bucks... Man I better hurry up..... oh wait, I already got mine

In all honesty I don't think I would have pulled the trigger if it was on the upper end of 6K to just buy the kit. They may recoup some initial sales on a higher profit margin, but if sales goes down they end up hurting themselves.

I doubt very highly it costs 6 large apiece to mass produce these things, so hopefully people will let Whipple feel it in their profits. They're only worth what people will pay for one.

Lol, no problem!

It's really a shame, this puts a damper even on a project I was going to do personally.

Maybe the girl might have to cancel her Victoria Secret Card!
