Whipple
Whipple
i am planning on buying a whipple soon..anyone have any pictures of one installed besides the ones from the Whipple site...i do have the Issue of MM&FF where they installed one and think i can do it with a couple of friends in a day but i want to see pics of one on someones stang...can anyone help
Whipple has their prices up and is already selling their system...from what i heard Ford and Whipple are working together and Ford will not be selling Whipples till the 07 Cobra comes out because they want to set it as an option for Cobra owners to beaf up their GT500...the Whipple H.O. kit is $7000 for polished...and so far i know Ford is not going to offer the 10psi+ pullies that Whipple gives you the choise of...Ford is also going to limit their model a bit more in the tuner part since they have to make it up to Factory Warrenty Standards...i already contacted whipple about the system but by the time i get one Ford will already be selling 6-8psi systems
I'm sure they're taking orders for the systems already, but ask any of the retailers - namely Lethal Performance - and they'll tell you they're waiting for Whipple to actually ship them out.
The Ford blower is a Whipple, which is why Ford's blower is also delayed. It's all in that thread.

Installing Fords Supercharger WILL void your Powertrain Warranty. look at all the other late model Ford Racing superchargers kits that apply to Vehicles that would still be under the factory warranty and look at the footnotes:http://www.fordracingparts.com/super...erchargers.asp
For the love of pete....
.... until it's released in the SUPER PAK don't assume it will void the warranty.
Previous kits were NOT part of the Ford Racing Performance packs that ARE covered under warranty. And as explained on more than one occasion, ford is trying to get these parts all under the factory warranty.
Which is what makes the FR4 superpack (made by whipple) warranty approved.
Until this pak comes out however, we won't know if they go back on their word (stated at Sema...with this kit installed on the FR500 Street car)

For sure i know once you go 8psi+ if the pak does come out under warrenty it will be void because 12psi+ needs engine mods like pistons and heads and 10-12psi is going to be just scratching the edge
OK fill me in here. Iv'e never heard of a FR4 Super pack, Iv'e been schooled before and sure i will be again, where is this listed? articles, website ect. so I can read up on it. I did a google search but didn't find anything. Is the FR4 Super pack the same as the one listed on Ford Racings website part# M-6066-M463V11 ? Also Im assuming now the Intercooled one Whipple Industries is going to offer is going to be much higher boost 8-10 than the Ford Racing one 4-5 ?
Whipples HO system is 10-12PSI and the regular is 8PSI but knowing ford they are not going to put too much power into there kit to keep it under warrenty...i am personally going Whipple direct instead of through ford and just get them to install it, my friends work at the local Ford dealer and would not charge me much and do all the paperwork

I'm guessing all the threads were prior to the board crash.
Basically, there are the 4 paks for the 05+mustang
Power, Drag, Handling and Super Pak
All warrantied by Ford if installed by a dealership.
Same with the GT500, there will be 4 paks for it as well,
including a SuperPak that will replace the stock charger with a 3.3L whipple (iirc)
The power pack is a CAI, new pulley (or snout) and tune.
(read about those a while back, there is a thread in the GT500 section about them)
A while back at Sema last year, Ford had the yellow/black FR500-Street car that was on the 1/4 mile dyno, it had the FR4 SuperPak and was stated to, like the other 3 paks currently available, be installed and warrantied.
Originally, the kit was supposed to be out around may, then june..now aug etc.
What hasn't been stated, is what the configuration will be...low boost, no intercooler or low boost with intercooler... and the rated output.
Guessing somewhere around the Roush kit (between 425-450hp)
This is NOT to be confused with the kit that Whipple itself is putting out, or the kit on FRPP website.... this is the FRPP FR4 Super Pak.
And until they state what the number is (right now its still M-6066-TBD)
Someone needs to hound their sources on this puppy

(its been stated a couple times that it will be out/announced shortly, or that whipple can't keep up with production, so they will be delaying it again.... that's the annoying part)
That sounds real good, Boomer....really really good.
I didn't know about all performance packs being warrantied if installed by a dealer...that's great news. Up on my list of things to do is the handling pack...if I can keep the warranty by spending a few extra bucks to have the dealer install it, that would be awesome.

Thanx for clearing that up Boomer. Now I have alot more to think about.
Warranty? or no warranty? hummmm. Originally I was ready to give it up and go with the whipple 8 or 10-12 kit. Not sure now, will be interesting to see What Fords Super pack will putout

He differentiates between the Whipple and the FRPP/FR4 Super Pack. I don't know if that is a realistic.
Although there may be a difference (most likely in amount of boost) between the kit that is directly from Whipple and the FRPP kit, I don't believe either one will be available without voiding your powertrain warranty. I hope I'm wrong, because I'll be at the front of the line at a local dealership, if it is....but I won't believe it until I see it, I don't care what the guy at the trailer/show says.
RD777, the kits are not out, in ANY way shape or form. Like Boomer said, Lethal Performance will be the first dealer with them once they start shipping. Right now Whipple says they will be available July 1... but then again, they have been renegging on production dates since February of '05.
I pretty much assume the blower will void the warranty, though I'm not totally sure. I mean, Roush made one that retains a warranty, why couldn't Ford? But that kind of logic rarely applies, right? Either way, by the time I have enough money for the blower (and added cost of 93 octane gas), my warranty will be up anyway.
No, I'm more interested in the handling pack not voiding warranty if installed by a Ford dealer. If that's true, I plan on getting that pretty soon. (off topic....sorry)
