Where to put jack stands?
The manual has some vague indication of where to put the stands. I did my first oil change a different way. A friend at work recommened the rhino-ramps for oil changes. I picked up a set of these, and they are the best $25 that I have spent in a long time. I go back a few years, and these are nothing like the old steel stands that they used to sell. These ramps have a low profile, so you don't have to worry about the lower facia, and they have some rubber feet that grip when you start driving up them. The ramps don't scoot along the floor at all. And they have a nice back stop to keep you from driving over them. The best part ? Once the car is up on them, you can spend lots of time under the car - just gazing at all the mechanical marvels brought to us by AAI. Enjoy !
Of course, the ramps help with the oil change, but what about when it's time for brakes?
I had a tough time interpreting my manual in my 01, understanding where they wanted the jack and jack stands. I would be interested in knowing where the best place is..... no one has really answered that question...
