What's your mileage? With the engine upgrades, my feeling is you might as well. It may not fail today, and it may not fail tomorrow, but it will fail eventually. Why bother with the hassle? Put one in there that works, and be done with it.

Just stick with the stock one until if/when it breaks

Have to agree with Dustin. The stock alternator is better than most think. I know of a few that have went the upgrade route and they puked in a few months. Save your money!! You haven't done anything to your car that the stock alternator can't handle.

The stock alternators are junk IMO. And I am one of the guys that 70MACH1OWNER is referring to that has upgraded to a PA unit and I did have a problem with it after about 6 months, but it was repaired at no cost to me (including shipping) so I'm happy.

Just keep your stocker until you start getting a 3040 code....... when that happens, replace it asap or risk getting stranded eventually.

My factory alternator died when my car was just 12 months old. Replaced under warranty. I didn't know the aftermarket had a better one available.

Yeah, maybe my opinion is biased since I just had to have my stock one replaced, too.
