when to upgrade alternator??
have been adding and upgradeing my engine and was wondering if i should upgrade the alternator? have whipple s/c , new alum 4.6 block new crank pistons etc. havent put on dyno yet, not all put together yet.
What's your mileage? With the engine upgrades, my feeling is you might as well. It may not fail today, and it may not fail tomorrow, but it will fail eventually. Why bother with the hassle? Put one in there that works, and be done with it.

Have to agree with Dustin.
in a few months.
Save your money!! You haven't done anything to your car that the stock alternator can't handle.Scott
The stock alternators are junk IMO. And I am one of the guys that 70MACH1OWNER is referring to that has upgraded to a PA unit and I did have a problem with it after about 6 months, but it was repaired at no cost to me (including shipping) so I'm happy.
Just keep your stocker until you start getting a 3040 code....... when that happens, replace it asap or risk getting stranded eventually.
